I feel bad for Bacon. Like I don't even actually know the dude, but I feel like we should all be sending him flower arrangements or muffin baskets or something.

I wonder what goes into making this deal or any deal come about. I mean you would think they could come to terms since Neil has played the festival before and in recent timing.
Is it money? Time slots? That sort of thing? I don't know, maybe it's because I live a life completly different than Neil Young but if someone called me up and wanted me to play to 50,000 plus at Bonnaroo, I'd say fuck yeah.

Yeah I had pretty much ruled out Neil as the possible 4th act because I couldn't think of a possible reason why he wouldn't come play. He seems to love the place and they seem to love him. Wonder why it didn't work out
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

Oct 12 Pearl Jam
March 16 Arcade Fire
April 29 Arcade Fire
Sept 4 Wilco
Sept 9 The Hold Steady

It's never too late. I actually have a slightly optimistic feeling about it. Not expecting it but I just think Neil likes Bonnaroo a lot, he seemed like he had a lot of fun last year.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse was what I really thought was going to come through - I didn't name them since they weren't confirmed but it was real close. Could it still happen? Don't know.....
This is exactly in between Jack White and Beck for my top wanted addition. My hopes are through the roof, insider!
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

I wouldn't get your hopes up on Neil now. With the overwhelming response to the lineup there really is not much incentive to pay the extra money to bring Neil in. Would be an awesome add though

Just hypothetically imagining that Neil had been booked, where/when would he have played? I think it's pretty safe to assume Saturday. Would he have played in the Black Keys/Stevie Wonder spot on the What before Chili Peppers?

Unless Capps just wants to thrown an epic fests for his own pleasure
Did I read Brian Wilson just had back surgery? If he has to drop out, would the BBs continue the tour without him? Would they be as big a draw? Maybe Neil Young and Crazy Horse could be called upon to pinch hit?

Uh he definitely didn't have back surgery. Where'd you read that.

Um, ok. It was described as a "procedure." "On a more recent afternoon at Ocean Way, the group was the picture of loose-limbed relaxation — although that didn't apply to Wilson, who was aching from a procedure on his bad back and was forced to skip the day's sessions. Without him, Love was working intently on lyrics while the other three members talked about the old days." See: articles.latimes.com/2012/feb/25/entertainment/la-et-beach-boys-20120225

I think that could go either way though. I'm not saying that I expect Neil Young to be added but if ticket sales are strong they might say "hey this worked out better than expected, let's go for it" I mean with coachella going nuts and having a double fest I think there's some pressure on these guys to at least not let coachella be the better festival twice in one year by establishing themselves as the single best festival. Again, I don't think we'll get NY but I also don't think you build the best festival by being complacent with anything you do.
Regardless of any additions I love the lineup as is and could not be more excited to go this year. I'm having a blast discovering all the unknowns on the lineup, really bringing me back to my first year where I hardly knew any of the smaller acts.
