Very True, and I have to respect what he did...like him or not...he does have some influence in the rap game...
As what? An example of how to not have a multi decade spanning career that left critics breathless about his live performance. He was popular for two years and then never heard from again except during reality shows, MAc Miller will go the same way.
sorry for the double post.
but jess, like it or not, he is a big part of the self promotions that is going on in hip hop right now. hes part of the big indie movement in hip hop(think people like big krit, curren$y, etc).
his talent is nowhere near those i just mentioned, but his name is bigger then them amongst the pop culture. to me hes one of the main examples to prove the general american public are morons.
man i thought bonnaroo was going good this year with the no rap thing. im more than ok with the roots but this is to far
I was with you up until the above point. First, why are the Roots okay, but other rap isn't? I look forward to an intelligent reply.
The Roots have a full band. Mac Miller/most modern rap acts do not. At least in my opinion there are a few decent rap acts, and all of the others. live the others are usually disappointing to me(Kayne, Lil' Wayne, Mac Miller, Sam Adams, etc.) Sorry if you disagree, just the majority of rap live is not worth seeing. I don't mind some of the older rap acts though like Beastie Boys, PE, or Dre and Snoop. The newer ones just disappoint me live and draw this particular crowd... Although I do wanna see OFWKTA.
can somebody please find him and put him in a hospital until june 11th... he doesn't need to die, just get severely injured
I'm from Pittsburgh: I would if I could. This kid came from a well-to-do family, attended private schools, and grew up in a pretty nice neighborhood. IDK why he is even remotely popular. Maybe he paid his way into a record deal? Funded his own success? I'm not saying you have to have a poopy background to be a good rapper, just this Mac Miller fella is a joke.

Sam Adams did this, wouldn't be surprised if he did. The story I heard was he bought x amount of song/album on itunes to get it in the top 10, then people were like o who is this and got interested. Bunch of morons. I work with a lot of 18 year olds and can't tell you how many Mac Miller arguments I've gotten into.
If the world doesn't end in December it doesn't have long left if these clowns are our future.
So horrible Maybe if we actually get Weird Al he can dedicate "white and nerdy" to him or better yet, instead of his parody of the Offspring's "pretty fly for a white guy" he can just cover the song and dedicate it to him. it'd make me smile
Cant say Im really surprised that he's there. Over the last couple years it seems bonnaroo is looking for a lot more rappers with just main stream success and Mac is crazy popular. And theres clearly alot for college kids just going to bonn for this kind of music these days
I hear this guy on campus all the time.. Don't exactly know how good he would be live. I plan on it staying that way. Mac Miller at Bonnaroo = Smaller crowds elsewhere, so bring it, brah.
Did you seriously throw Kanye West into an "etc." with Mac Miller and Sam Adams whilst discussing live performances? Not sure if you've heard, but for as great an a-hole Kanye is, he's an even greater performer.
well let's not forget all these same people hating on mac also hated on eminem being there last year... and em put on one of the best shows, if not the best last year so hate on... and mac will bring a very large crowd to his show.. college kids love the guy

eminem's show was pretty horrible last year, and thats coming from somebody who was looking forward to it somewhat. and mac miller is terrible, but if he thins out the crowd for a show i wanna see, then so be it.

this would be totally true if eminem didn't put on one of the worst shows ive ever seen

I got to thinking, is Mac Miller the most offensive act that Bonnaroo has ever booked? And I don't mean offensive from a moral standpoint. I mean offensive from a taste standpoint.

I was really not interested in Eminem, but I guess I'm not in the majority when I say I really enjoyed the show... I felt like he was really giving 110%, unlike some artists that just go through the motions... High energy and old hits was enough for me to enjoy the show.
Oh and by the way, Mac Miller really really sucks.
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
