agreed. you never know when the show will be good or bad. not even MSG on NYE guarantees a scorcher, apparently. same as it ever was, Phish comes to play when they come to play.
but that is part of what makes live Phish so exciting. who the hell knows how the bonnaroo set will play out? will it be exciting like Friday bonnaroo 09, or will it be ho-hum like their ACL set? either way it will be a blast, but I'm hoping for some awesomeness come Sunday night.
I hope they bring the heat, especially since they're only playing one show this time around.
Springsteen in 2009: any thoughts on special guests for this year?
It would be cool to see the guys back Brian Wilson, I think.

Roo is expected to make an announcement regarding Late Night shows within the next 10 days or so, anybody think it's a possibility they surprise us with a 2nd Phish show? Maybe a saturday night 11-2 slot like friday of 09? I know its unlikely, but I feel like it's possible
My bad, jumping to conclusions but yes I was basing that on previous years
It's all good. They have told us late nights recently but I don't think it is the same every year so I was wondering if you had read/heard something that I didn't.
I appreciate what CoS does in the sense of their vigilance and the sheer mass of articles they compile. It's a great site for straight news.
The problem comes when journalists think they are as interesting as the bands they write about. I go to entertainment journalism to hear Dr. Dog talk about their new album, not to hear what a journalist thinks about the new Dr. Dog album. And that's where I feel like CoS fails, is with their indulgent columns and self-righteous editorializing.
I once saw a writer say that M. Ward was “one fat paycheck away from being Jason Mraz.” I’m sorry to use the “h” word, but that is the most hipster bullshit I’ve ever heard.
I dunno, I just don’t see much place for opinion in journalism. I like it in context, like “if you liked Ani DiFranco’s earlier albums, this is for you, but if you’re a fan of her experimental stuff you may find this album lacking in that.” But I don’t really care to hear what a writer thinks about a band.
And at its core this article is essentially “I was too shoved up my own a** to listen to music before I bashed it. Then someone I deemed “cool” told me the same thing other people have been saying, and because he’s “cool” I guess that makes it true. Whatever, I shouldn’t complain, it could just be an article bashing Phish. Either way, my eyes glaze over when I read sh*t like this.

I pretty much feel the same way on CoS. Remember when one of their writers announced Green Day to be the band of the decade?
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
I'm still holding out for a Saturday late-nite Phish set. I may be setting myself up for disappointment, but you gotta dream big.
I would LOVE a phish LN, but if it was happening I think it would be billed as 2 shows, not 2 sets. and on the full lineup page it would say Phish (2 shows) again, and the announcement would specify a LN like the special announcement did in 2009.
