I, too, would like more music for driving through the mountains.
You should check out the Richmond Fontaine record The High Country. It's not really Appalachian Folk but it's sort of in that vein with the storytelling, which is the best aspect of the record.

I'm not sure if this is just and old thing or a running thing for 2012 folk, but I'm goi ng to go ahead and treat it as both.
Donovan Quinn - Honky Tonk Medusa from this year is all I have so far. It just came out, but I enjoyed it. Not as great as Your Wicked Man, but still p darn good.
I'm going to have to go through this stuff. I've ever heard of the vast majority of it. I'm always looking for good new folk and there is not all that much of it out there.
