As corny as it sounds, I've spent a lot of time this weekend thinking about how blessed I am. I didn't get a lot of stuff, but I didn't want stuff. Instead, I'm blessed with people and experiences from the past few days.
- I got to spend lots of time with my two nephews, and marvel at the tall and smart boys they are becoming. - I got to hug and kiss my grandfather, who actually knew my name after a bad spell last week of not knowing anyone. In any case, I am so fortunate to still have both of my maternal grandparents. - I got to participate in a Christmas Day picnic with my nephews and second cousins, complete with a quilt on my aunt's lawn and ice cream sandwiches. - I got to hold my cousin's newborn baby girl. - And to cap it all off, I was flooded with text messages and facebook posts from my friends and Inforoosters.
I can't remember if I posted something like this here already, but whatever. Can't say it enough.
I met a lot of great people from Inforoo in 2011. Brunch, Quack Club, Freefest, Moog. Had some great times, and looking forward to many more in 2012 and beyond.
Hope everyone had a good day, weekend, holiday. Stay awesome my friends.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
