Holy shiz, this song is so badass. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. I will be checking periodically to see if them shits has leaked yet and let y'all know. I'd like to hear it before I see them because they will be playing a good bit of material from it according to this: www.rollingstone.com/music/news/inside-neil-young-and-crazy-horses-new-album-and-tour-20120814 I suppose we'll start seeing setlists in a couple of weeks though and maybe some youtubage of some of the live shows. Since they did two red rocks shows earlier, I doubt those will be comparable to the rest of the tour.

You mean Sugar Mill? I thought Ampersand was just the name of the promotion company or whatever. Do they have their own venue? I've only been to one of their shows at MGW and one at Sugar Mill though (STS9 and Primus during Jazzfest earlier this year).

yeah there is actually a club ampersand. I've never been there myself but my understanding is it is small and crowded and shitty. it's also located in the central business district and at least it appears to me it would be kind of a pain in ass to get to.

NOTE- Anders Osborne w/ Big Chief Boudreaux got moved on 10/27 to like 9:00pm during Green Day's set. I think I've got my late nights picked out.... unless Gary Clark Jr. gets added to HOB or OEJ. 10/26- Chickie WahWah's Toubab Krewe w/Cheick Hamala Diabete This show looks so badass.... sadly it starts at 8:30pm, with a 90 minute Toubab set, followed by a 90 minute Cheick set, then a superjam at midnight. Gonna be sick!
LATENIGHT- 2am- Probably doing that Ike Stubblefield show w/ June Yamagishi & Col. Bruce. Really curious to see June and the Col. together. The only other thing I would do is that Ivan Neville superjam at Howlin' Wolf. They have the players TBA so who knows, a lot of great musicians will be in town that weekend.
10/27- Also gonna hit up that 11pm Saturn Bar show then do Blue Nile Toubab latenight

Yeap, we found 4 tickets for our friends that way pretty quickly. Me and an older head got tickets for face (I had to find one for a birthday girl with us) and two other chicks overpaid. One paid f'n $75! ouch.
Finger in the air works at almost any show really... I got into Gregg Allman at the HardRock in January for $10 with my finger in the air for all of 3 seconds. My friends paid over $50.

So the Ivan Neville Superjam got announced for 10/26 Ivan Neville w/ Terrence Higgins, Eddie Roberts, Adam Scone, Eric McFadden & more.
Sounds like there is a good chance of getting some of the Meters to show up (GPJ namely), and who knows who else. Anders is def in town and it is suspicious that he isn't announced as playing anywhere late night that weekend.
Gary Clark Jr. + Anders Osborne co-bill @ OEJ would make my pants very tight

Yeah I figured I could get a ticket but expected to have to pay around $70. Classic mistake to stay in that night, it's always worth trying. Last show I bought a ticket outside the venue for was that Flaming Lips 24hour show. Met a really cool guy who was a huge Lips fan. He sold me two tickets for face.
As for my Halloween late nights, I'm hoping to catch Flow Tribe and Soul Rebels at Blue Nile on the 26th and Mike Dillion upstairs on Saturday night. Oh and Toubab's Sunday night show. If Justice ends up being Ampersand's Voodoo guest I'll be irate. Ampersand has never excited me with their special guests so here's to hoping for another disappointment.
edit: oh and Gravity A at the den whatever night they end up playing
