I wish there was a new music Tuesday thread where all the album covers were posted like in Now Playing. Ever since Spotify took away that feature my Tuesdays are missing something.
If you just want to know what's been released, and what to look out for, these two sites are what I generally use.
Grits lack nutritive value. Oatmeal is more healthful. I don't like either.
I'm with you... Fuck 'em both. they have the most disgusting texture, ewwwww. thanks to this reminder, I am now willing to allow the dreaded waffles to move up slightly on my list of breakfast foods- the bottom belongs to grits/oatmeal (being equally terrible). oh, and sausage.

Hold up. You don't like sausage? sang_xcx and custeph, what the f*ck is going on in South Carolina?
Oatmeal is better as a standalone breakfast. Grits are better if they're a breakfast side.
This is pretty fair. When I made grits yesterday, I really felt like I should have made something else. It did seem kind of wrong to eat those by themselves.

I lived in the South for awhile. My husband is definitely 100% "South" (when he talks to his family on the phone, the change in his voice is perceptively noticeable, to the point where our cats think a strange man is in the house). He don't like grits, much. And, I remember many of my southern friends not being too fond of the hominy either. Grits are gross, not just to yankees!

Ooh, hominy. I love that stuff, but have only had it once probably in the last 10 years. Grits I would just as soon slide off my plate and into the garbage. Oatmeal is a great tasty, quick breakfast selection.

Ooops, right, as I see it, grits are just trying to be like hominy, soaked in bacon grease.
Whatever. It's all cow fodder to me. Or something that Native Americans were forced to eat by white missionaries until they died from nutritional deficiencies.

I don't put bacon grease in my grits. I save all of that for my eggs. Speaking of which, I can totally go with people not liking grits, but there is no substitute for using bacon grease to fry eggs. Olive/Vegetable/Canola/Whatever oil is second place.
P.S. It's amazing how many spirited food discussions we have here.

Absolutely agree that nothing comes close to eggs fried in bacon grease in a cast iron skillet. Did this yesterday and still trying to air out the house...

I then compare notes with Now Playing Dos thread and the AOTM thread, and begin my search to find the musics
I just want the baby book version!
The 2nd link has editors picks and star ratings. I haven't missed too much going off that alone, I would say they are a little generous with there ratings at times, but it gives you a good idea of what's out there.
I always just add a dab of milk to my eggs in the skillet.
why?
Grits, eggs(sunny side up), and a side of swine(bacon is on the top of that list, but there are many other great options) is the BEST meal, evar! Had it for dinner a few nights ago.
Grits are good if you put enough butter in there. My grandfather used to make it all the time when I was a kid.
A lot of things are good when you put enough butter in it.
In Anthony Bourdains book he says the difference between restaurant quality food and someones home cooking is that the chefs in a kitchen always finish with butter.

It seems that, generally speaking, AllMusic likes to give out ratings that relate to that artist's work. A 4 1/2 star review for a Pink album means it's really good... considering that it is a Pink album.

It's just the way I always remember Ma doing it. It also makes them fluffier. Before adding the eggs I always take a paper towel and remove the bacon grease or else I'm experiencing an unsettled stomach about an hour later.
