As it is for many people, Bonnaroo is very much a time for me to reset and reflect. And for the third year now, I've come home wanting to be working someplace else. I was talking about this to my friend earlier, and she said that I'm the most straight-laced free spirit she's ever met, and I think that makes sense. I can be fairly corporate and stoic and times, but that's like an outer layer to this bubbling concoction of spontaneity and creativity inside. She compared me to a geode. It's a fair comparison, but I dislike that it takes so long to crack that outer wall - and I think a part of that has to do with my job. It's all rules and sales and numbers and ugh. It keeps me boxed in. I really need to get out. My two sides coincide nicely for now, and I think that's because I'm young and can pretend I still have time. But then I project myself into the future and realize I'm not actually going anywhere, and those two sides don't really play well in the long run. I just don't want to be one of "those people", you know? Sell my soul to the 9-to-5...I need more fulfillment.
I don't really need or want advice on this, as a lot of it has been given to me before and I feel bad when I don't listen to it, but I just wanted to word vomit a bit and I'm sure other people feel similarly right about now (about their job or whatever other dualities are wrestling for prominence). Just needed to ramble.

Someone brought in donuts to celebrate Andrew Jackson staying on the 20 and I ate one by taking bites and tasting it and spitting it out I'm so pathetic.

So Republicans are really trying to turn this S.C. shooting from race to a plight against Christianity? The kid was clearly racially motivated, and he chose the church as the path of least resistance. The media push and pull is fucking this whole country up.

Step one: He's obviously mentally unstable to do such a thing.
Oh, he has no history of mental illness? Well fuck.
Step two: Well, we don't know that it was about racism.
Oh, he told a detective that he wanted to start a race war? Well fuck.
Step three: Well, just because the killer wanted to make it about race doesn't mean we have to.
Are you serious? Just have the conversation already.

On the other hand, I only put sunscreen on Nessie the entire weekend and I'm not burnt at all. (The one benefit of living in Florida is never getting sun burnt at festivals)

Ladies and gentlemen,
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists Whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable Than my own meandering experience

You know that you can't just put on sunscreen once a day and expect to NOT get burned, right? You have to reapply. According to whoever does those studies, you should multiply the SPF times how long it takes you to burn and that is when you should reapply. So I use 30 SPF, if I burn in 5 mins without sunscreen then I should be reapplying every 150 minutes. I over reapply because I burn so easily, usually when I feel like I am burning, I put more on which is about every 15 - 30 minutes. But I am a bit overzealous with the sunscreen.
