I wish this was more random but seems appropriate in the last post.
It is really tough to be a black man right now. And not be angry. There are very few of us here. We are under represented here as we are in many other places. But how do you keep seeing the fear attached to your skin color, and the death, and systemic racism. I don't even feel like creating right now, it doesn't feel like anything is going to change.

I am both saddened and outraged by these non-random events. I had a very hard time getting to sleep last night after seeing the video of Philando Castile's murder, while already feeling heavy with Alton Sterling's murder. And today, to see people come out and defend the officers actions, to tell us not to jump to conclusions, or try to tear down the character of the victims (ALL with things that never justify murder, btw, not even fucking close), hurts my soul.
I can't even possibly imagine how you must feel as a black man.
This needs to change. There's no other way forward.
My friend and I will be starting a radio show next month. It will mainly be us talking about nerdy, pop culture-y stuff, although it would probably delve into a bit of science as well. (Yes, so original. We like doing it. Shut up.)
Obviously, that's a broad description. And so, we've created a list of what we would consider "The Nerd Essentials". We're using it to sort of set boundaries for what we'd typically be talking about. Basically, this.
I did that with the new season of Peaky Blinders. So worth it.
Tell me about this. Good? First I have heard of it.
It's the best series on Netflix, imho. Cillian Murphy is stunning, both in his acting and just to look at, which helps.
It's about family who runs a criminal enterprise/street gang in post-WWI Birmingham. Incredible writing and acting, and each season is 6 one hour episodes, so it makes binge watching easy.
edit// Oh and Tom Hardy shows up in the 2nd season and his character is one of my favorites in any TV show ever.

Tom Hardy? This changes everything!
I didn't recognize him. I read something after I finished the second season already and went back, checked IMDB and was just like "Well, shit. That's awesome."

He and Cillian are both going to be in the new Chris Nolan movie about Dunkirk, gonna be cool to see them together again.

Someone with a name very similar to mine is CONSTANTLY accidentally using my gmail address for her shit, and it's super annoying to get confirmations/receipts/other correspondence that doesn't belong to me.
I have 88k unread emails, I don't need your help, lady!
If I can get just one of you guys to watch Peaky Blinders, these 7 years and 7000 comments have been worth it.
It's been on my list for a long while (and I was excited to hear about Tom Hardy joining even though I hadn't started it yet) but it seemed like a show I really should focus on and pay attention to like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones because I didn't want to miss a thing (and sometimes have to figure out what they are saying with accents). It's always been easier to put on crappier stuff while cleaning or doing stuff around the house.

Maybe I'll start it up tonight!
I watch it with subtitles on. It makes it SO much easier to follow.

I have had the same thing happen. She used one of my graphic designer gmail addresses for her home depot order. I have also had a girl with the same name as me cause me all sorts of issues when I was in my late teens/early twenties. Such a pain in the ass.

I don't understand how someone doesn't know/use their own email address! She has to realize she's not getting these emails. It's happening at least a few times a month.
Unfortunately she doesn't have a large online footprint, so I can't just forward things to her or let her know I'm getting all of her crap.
My Capstone Architecture project is related to Telluride town park and the Telluride bluegrass festival (we have a lot of flexibility in what kind of project we want to design but the base project is re-design the park and the festival grounds) and now we are probably doing a site visit for a Neil Young concert there. It really doesn't get much better than that.
My TV "to watch" is incredibly long. I am mid-season six for GoT, so I aaalllmost have that checked off. Next? Almost every other HBO or other premium channel show that exists because I haven't seen 99.9% of them. I've seen all of Weeds. And the first season or two of True Blood and Breaking Bad. I think that's about it.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Damn it, is Hillary still doing this shit? I thought all this trouble she was in would have put an end to it.

Neil Young is coming to Telluride?
It's not announced yet, but the town voted on and approved the show. It should be the weekend of Sep 23rd or 30th

How did you find out her email to forward the emails to her? I couldn't find the woman with the home depot order to save my life. I ended up calling Home Depot because for a minute I thought I was getting scammed. They removed my email from her account, but never gave me her name.
