for the first time ever i really feel like this is a possibility for this year. the initial plan was to get prince AND radiohead last year, obviously Roo would do it -- it's not "too big". then we get radiohead and then insiders posts last night... really makes it seem like Roo could have pulled off the Prince/Radiohead they were shooting for last year

I really don't want to get my hopes up for this. I want it so so so badly. I would *literally* puke sunshine and rainbows.

I'm starting to think this might be it. the fact that Prince and Radiohead were asked last year but couldn't. the fact the Radiohead and Phish rumor ended up true but only one year late. the fact that Radiohead is according to insider playing friday, which means Radiohead possibly would be billed 2nd to .....someone.

I think this is the absolute best chance of any band who would be billed above Radiohead. Not saying it's certain, but here's my thinking:
1. We only have info about one other band that they might be booking, although it is from last year. 2. Insider could have been speaking sarcastically about it. "You'll never guess who is being difficult" when said sarcastically, makes it sound like we should be able to guess who would be difficult. Clearly Prince would be (although probably not the only band who would be). 3. Along the same train of thought, the "You'll never be able to guess" part, also when said sarcastically, could mean that we should be able to guess.
It's at least a decent chance... I may repost this in the HL thread. Sorry for that, but more people read that one, I think.
For my own personal tastes, I don't think McCartney*The Cure*Whoever the other one was (Killers? doesn't matter) at Coach '09 could be topped as far as headliners go.
But yeah, I think a lot of people would consider that the best top 4 ever.

Yep, with Radiohead playing Friday it looks like they aren't the biggest act available. Unless that RHCP really didn't want to play their 4th day in a row and they switched them. But still....odd....
If Radiohead plays Friday, then there's a bigger band than them on Saturday (or at least equal). And it would have to be either Macca, Prince, Stones, Waters, or U2....with Neil and/or PJ as other possibilities.
Prince, Radiohead, and Phish would make me quacking lose my mind. I can't even begin to comprehend.

No, this in no way has to be true.
Biggest band has always played Saturday, with 10 being the arguable exception. Maybe not "bigger" than Radiohead, but comparable in size. Neil Young or Prince would be my guess at this point, with maybe Macca.

You disproved your own point yourself. It's not arguable, DMB was billed 1st, and played Sunday.
I said arguable because I think the billing that year is odd and debatable (KoL over Stevie and Jay-Z? Really?).
Either way, it's a fact that we're seeing another "big, not current" act and that Radiohead is playing Friday. To me that implies the act is rather big.

The act is top 4 big, yes. This could easily be a repeat of 2010 where the top billed artist does not play Saturday, and we end up with two top 4 acts on Saturday instead.
Hell, you don't even know if we're seeing this "big, not current" act, considering they haven't been finalized yet (at least at the time of insider's last posting).

i already posted this in the headliner thread but it belongs in here where it won't disappear into obscurity within an hour. fun for the experienced, and a great place to start for the unacquainted:
