Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
If you enjoy Dawes that much go for it. I would not skip a band I enjoy seeing just because I have seen them before. It is about enjoying yourself, if Dawes will do something for you that you think Sigur Ros will not, then do it.
Thinking like this will lead you to marry the first woman whose boobs you touch.
Using your analogy, both have already let him touch their boobs. :-) Go with the boobs you liked the best.
So I have tickets to see Sigur Ros in Pittsburgh on September 19. I paid about $40 for the tickets. I have only seem them once before; late night at Bonnaroo.
The same evening, about an hour and a half away, Dawes (my favorite band over the past 4 years) and Good Old War are playing a free show to kick off the Kent State Folk Festival. I've seen Dawes probably between 4 and 5 times.
The question remains: sell my Sigur Ros ticket and go see Dawes for free or go see Sigur Ros? This becomes even a trickier proposition when I could easily convince 2-4 of my good friends to go with me to see Dawes (music is always better shared; they also love Dawes). Right now I'm just planning on meeting an acquaintance for Sigur Ros.
Since all life really revolves around the sandwich, let's look at it this way. I really, really love grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. Eat 'em all the time. If someone offered me a free one of these, I would not pass it up.
Unless.
"Hey you can have one of those for free or try this lobster roll thing that you've only had once and might like to try again at another restaurant. It'll cost you though."
At least for me, the lobster roll wins out every time.

A ham sandwich was not the best choice for this metaphor, sir.

Sorry. I'll get out of this thread too.
Awww. You don't have to leave. You just need to go to the Inforoo Jokes 2010 and before thread. I am sure it exists somewhere.
In short, it comes down to "Which sounds more exciting: ________ or a ham sandiwch?" It was used primarily for when there were sh*tty options available for people playing at a certain time, i.e. Kings of Leon's headlining set.

Yeah I got it. I guess that makes lobster roll/Sigur Ros even more of the correct choice here.
Fuuuuuuuuuck, I'm so close to going to the bank, making a deposit, and getting tickets to the Television show in Athens... only a few tickets left through the GT website (so they are saying). I really can't afford spending on something right now, but I realllllly want to go.

Just found out Julianna Barwick is opening for Sigur Ros on this tour leg. It's an even juicier lobster roll than I previously thought.

This week will be a crazy week for me. X/Blondie in Cincy on Wednesday then back up again on Friday for Queens of the Stone Age. Sunday I will be having my first Megabus experience leaving from Louisville at 4 AM to go to Chicago for Riot Fest and then back down again that same night. While there I'm looking forward to seeing Bob Mould, Mission of Burma, Peter Hook & the Light, The Replacements & The Pixies. Definitely going to be an awesome day/week!
October 16tg Thee Oh Sees in Vancouver will be my 3rd attempt at seeing this band live. Once a storm canceled my flight, and most recently, they were to play Sled Island, but the fest was shut down 2 days early due to the Calgary flood, I may also go to the Kanye show on the 20th, but it will likely be a game time decision.
