This. If we could get either Daft Punk or MBV I could die and go to heaven. It's just such a rarity that they tour. Like seeing a unicorn or something. I was lucky enough to see MBV in Dallas in 2009 (one of five US dates) and it was easily one of the top five shows I've ever been to. My ears were ringing for about four days afterward. It was awesome.
deadmau5 hasn't changed his set in almost 2 years, he doesn't even do anything interesting live.
Unfortunately for you he announced a new stage show today...
unfortunately again, thats still all he has. a stage show.
His mixing isn't interesting and he plays boring, easy, electro house music. Give me a mau5 head and I (or just about anyone else) could put on his show and nobody would know the difference.
He's just a very gimmicky performer.
also, if the New Deal is still around they should get a 2am-sunrise set. They would throw down so hard into the morning.
All I want at roo this year is The Shi.t Robot Show. LN would be so perfect... they absolutely killed the place when I saw them open for LCD Soundsystem at Terminal 5 in NYC. So many people were talking about it afterwards, and people were dancing just as hard as during the main act.
The best part is the visuals. They actually work great on a large stage, and I have no doubts that it would work great in a tent
I saw him at ultra. Love his LP but was soooo dissapointed live. He played more generic boring techno, not nearly as cool as his CD. I think maybe that was an attempt to appease the ultra crowd though. If he played stuff more like his CD I'd be very happy with him playing

Are there any hugely successful/popular DJs that you think are interesting?

I don't know exactly WHO I would want...but I hope that we get bands that have never played late night before or bands that haven't in a LONG time. I'm sick of Girl Talk getting a late night show every time he is on the lineup. Also, i'm fine with the electronica but can we at least spread it out some so that the electronica folks can see all of their acts and the rest of us have other things to see?
Wu-Tang Clan ( for LN Which) Flux Pavillion Lotus Portishead Boys Noize Daft Punk (for LN What, first offiical one. I don't include Kanye) The Roots (Superjam idea sounds killer)
