With 2012 being an election year anyone have a strange feeling we'll see Rage Against The Machine do some shows? I think they'd make a good Friday headliner.
I would love and hate to see RATM play the farm. I have not seen them since the early 90's when they were opening for Cypress Hill and would love to see them again. However I really have no desire for the What field to turn into the worlds largest mosh pit.

good point, the crowd energy may seem better for a Late night Which set (NIN x1.5 at least), but if there's no way they wouldn't be headlining. Agreed, love to see them there, but no much on the main stage.
The thirteen year old in me would love to see RATM play. I have fond memories of playing Battle of Los Angeles while driving around Prince Edward Island looking for Anne of Green Gables tourist shops with my mom, sisters, and grandma. My mother didn't care for the lyrics and snapped the CD in half. Good times. Let's get Rage so that I can finally get my mom out to the farm.

i dont know IF rage would ever do the show. im positive that the crowd at the roo would respond well to rage given the chance. be expecting a fire pit....
RHCP are in Europe right now and American dates are imminent. I'm thinking they have to headline one American Festival. Looks like they are going back to Europe in late June, so who knows...

I LOVE RHCP. if they headlined I would die. the new album kicks ass. and can you imagine the impact if it was raining during "adventures of rain dance maggie" you do have a good point, an american tour is imminent.....
They were the first band that I ever fell in love with and really blew open my musical tastes. That said, I didn't care for their recent record and while I wouldn't mind them as a headliner, not sure I would be excited either.
Blood Sugar Sex Magik is still in my top 10 albums of all time, though.

i enjoy the Chili Peppers, but without John Frusciante my excitement for them drops a bit. You can really feel his absence on the new record.

Agreed entirely. I'd still love to see them, though, since I've never seen them live.

I'd rather imagine them playing pre-BSSM stuff.
Up to and including for me, if you strike Give it Away, and Under the Bridge off the list BSSM is a pretty solid album.
I kind of wish they would do a nostalgia tour and play all of Mothers Milk, or the Uplift Mofo Party Plan though.

Yes to Mother's Milk, I love that album. I get what you're saying about BSSM, those couple of songs just got played to death back in the day. There's also stuff from Freaky Styley and By the Way that I think are pretty good.

False. No ammount of deluge could make that song, or the rest of the album, listenable.

I have to agree. The Klinghoffer kid is like Shia Labeouf in Indiana Jones. No thanks, and thanks for screwing with my childhood.

I don't know about the Black Keys as a headliner, still seems a little early for that especially considering they have been the past two years and the abortion of a show back in June. Also I am not sure they have made the jump to headliner status.

If any of these predictions are at all close, this year could be killer. Mr. Belgian Manders especially looks so good that I have to stop from overthinking it since there's simply no way it could be that awesome.
I suppose the worst possible headliners right now for me would be Lady Gaga/Foos/Further. And I like the Foos and some Dead stuff. This year is shaping up really nicely. Though if we get Moby in a place where Justice would be, I would be disappointed.
That being said, if Prince OR Radiohead OR Sigur Ros OR Black Star OR Paul (I think unlikely) OR Rammstein happen, I'd be very pleased.
This year is shaping up to be mind blowing though. Sorry, I'm ranting but Bonnaroo excitement always starts hitting hard this time of year. It needs to be February already.

Don't let people's mocks get you too excited. No way we (or just about any other fest) is going to get a lineup as strong (even just size wise) as some of the lineups being posted in here.

I know its been tossed around once or twice before but I'm putting in my vote for the Stone Roses. Their site says they will probably be in North America in May but back in Europe by June but thats not the part that interests me. "If correct, this would leave the Roses free to accept any lucrative festival offers over the summer." That is the part that interests me. I could see them just doing Coachella or even Lollapalooza as it would be more in line with their touring schedule...

If memory serves, I remember Prince and Radiohead being on a lot of mocks at this point last year, and we see how that turned out.

Indeed.
Here's a good rule of thumb, Radiohead will never ever be booked second. Not saying they are the biggest band in the world, but just saying no (reasonable) fest is going to be able to spend the money to get an act the size of Radiohead in their SECOND slot. So if your mock has them, or any other band that size, in the second slot, you can go ahead and give up hope now.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
