myspace announced the lineup last year but you didn't need a myspace page. I don't think you need to sign up for spotify and I also don't think we should look at the artists that are/aren't listed on Spotfiy as any sort of clue. They probably just paid good money to be the brand that releases the lineup. I hope it's not something silly like "You have to listen to this spotify account all day" or something.
I'm not sure what's worse - that so many younger people don't know who Paul McCartney is or that so many younger people don't know how to use the Internet where you can find the answer to that question in 1.7 seconds.
How will this work? Is there a Bonnaroo stream or a Bonnaroo channel on Spotify? I've never used Spotify.
There is already a Bonnaroo channel of old music. I'm guessing they will create a new channel that will slowly be filled with Bonnaroo 2012 artists or something of the like. Not sure though.
Who are these people you are talking to who don't know who Paul McCartney is? That's practically impossible. If you don't know Paul McCartney you either live under a rock or don't have parents and have raised yourself out of a garbage can.
I've heard from various artists that they get screwed pretty hard on their royalty percentages through Spotify. If you are a bigger artist you probably will do ok from it, but otherwise it's been a laughable amount of profit.
Heavy amount of commercials, built better then pandora's free service though. Would rather listen to last.fm radio, scan through soundcloud or get linked out to something. Something about spotify just doesn't gel for me (but I also do have a lot of music already on my hard drives which might construe the argument some).

Worst case scenario you wait a few minutes after they release it (if they do something like release a playlist with artists on i t) and it'll be posted in link form all over the blogs and music sites.

Well I downloaded Spotify so I'd rather be surprised and find out when everyone else does...I just need to know how you'd find the Bonnaroo channel or that playlist. When I search "Bonnaroo"a bunch of Bonnaroo playlists come up but I don't see an official AC Entertainment or Bonnaroo channel/2011 playlist.

Worst case scenario they release the lineup one song at a time

Check their FB page and when you see a playlist click it.
