Except it's probably not Thursday. They cancelled their Friday show in Florida the day before Roo announced the LN shows. To me, that sounds like they had to wait on Shpongle to cancel in Florida before they could announce the LN shows, which means that they're playing LN on Friday. I could be wrong, but that looks like the logical chain of events to me.
Definitely excited for this show, though!
This and they've also changed the date on the original website that posted their Roo gig for Thursday. Now listed as Friday. I was wanting to believe it'd stay on Thursday to keep conflicts away.

Only problem with this is that it takes 14 hours to get from Manchester to Ft. Lauderdale, and if he were to play a LN on friday and end at roughly 4-5 AM, that's a really really tight squeeze to get to the show saturday.
Thursday latenight = Friday morning. Having friday listed as the date doesn't necessarily mean he'll be on friday night. Also, I would think he canceled his friday show for the same reason mc listed above...to play latenight on the farm till 3 or 4 am thursday (friday morning) then turn around and travel for a show on friday night would suck

Definitely sounds like that could work. I'm all over the place defending both positions on a few boards. I'd much prefer the Thursday gig. I posted somewhere that I thought it was unlikely that they had changed to Friday because it seems like Roo would have already had their LN schedule set by the time Shpongletron cancelled his Friday gig, making a move to Friday dependent on moving someone else out of Friday LN or still having an open position. Then I saw they changed the date on the Sphongletron website from Thursday to Friday (actually as of yesterday it said both). So that made me think that AC'd been holding out for a hopeful cancellation with the Florida gig.
The long travel position is pretty compelling too. Thursday would be great.
I too would like it to be Thursday, but it seems doubtful. He could easily make it to Ft Lauderdale after leaving Saturday morning. We leave Wednesday night and get to Manchester Thursday early morning. And the show at Revolution wouldn't start until like 11pm probably. I just wish he was playing a different night at Revolution so I could go that show too. Deadmau5 played there a couple years ago and it was sick!
I'm hoping for Friday night cause then there's less chance at my tollbooth volunteering to conflict, but then it'd probably conflict with some other late night act I want to see.
i'm just gonna see them here in DC in May just in case. Plus, they may play longer at their own show vs Roo. *shrugs*

Hell yes been wanting to see Shpongle for a minute and Thursday Night = No other conflicts for major acts with me. Give me more time to focus on bigger acts. Meaning I can probably see Big Boi and (hopefully) STS9. And some of the other biggies on the event. I can not just see other acts competeing with Shpongle on Thursday Night in my opinion. Meaning I have a greater chance to see Basnectar wich I am calling for Friday night to get things crunk. And Dr. John where our fav festie gets its name from. String Cheese will probably play all ngiht on the night they play I know this from previous Roo's so that will be a given to catch at least part of their set. Shpongle on Thursday just freed up a lot of my late night anxiety.

so I keep forgetting I work at 7am the day after the DC show... so... I'm bummed. and I'll be super bummed if my volunteering conflicts with this set. But really...unless cancelling his Friday show makes any difference, I think it'll stay at Thursday night. We shall see. I'll get notified if it changes time on Facebook, at least, but I doubt they'd care. Maybe the Friday cancellation is completely unrelated? *shrugs*

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio." -Hunter S. Thompson

Yep she did good so I wonder who i will have to miss over this now? Though we knew all along that this show would probably not be Thursday. Shpongle is a name that has been thrown around for comming to Bonnaroo since I was on the old ass Krew Of Roo message board (anyone remember that?). It would just be to big of a blowout for that night. Thursday is reserved for up and comming bands. Shpongle is a longtime established internationally recognized entity. If you are on this thread you have probably seen the "Live at the Roundhouse" footage. Or watched the Shpongeltron goodness earlier in the thread. That is hardcore late night material. And it will be heady!! Hell on the glowstick war page last I looked before I swore off glowsticks for environmental reasons was polling ahead of everyone including Bassnecatar. And let me tell you I was at Bassnectar last year and their was crazy Leno going on. I saw a motherfucker raging on fire at that show!! Tilll security made him pack up his Fire Poi. Realizing there are probably some people on here that saw that and skipped da' Flips I would expect some to want a second helping of that type of madness. If it comes down to it I will skip Bassnectar this year. That is all part of Roo expanding your tastes. My best scenario Shpongle or Bassnectar open up for one or the other other now that would be probably the most insanely intense late night tent ever!

I will give you my first translation for this statement = Novel stimuli elicit activations in dopamine neurons that often are followed by depressions and persist as long as behavioral orienting reactions occur
