The top 10 films suggested will be shown in the Cinema Tent at the Roo (according to the "Official" web site): go here www.bonnaroo.com/cinema.htm to "vote" for your favorite. My suggestion? REEFER MADNESS

REEFER MADNESS would be great!!!!! I suggested The Big Lebowski, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Swingers. I had many more to list but I honestly doubt I'm gonna sit and watch more than a little of any of those movies while I am there. Although I did seem to somehow fall asleep and sit there for way to long last year.......
Stop Making Sense (Talking Heads concert film) Waking Life I second Bagoink's nomination of The General, although I would also love to see Buster in Sherlock Jr.
That said, I peeked in the cinema tent a few times in 2002 and spent about 20 minutes relaxing in front of Empire Strikes Back last year, but I don't see the cinema tent as a huge part of my weekend. If there's no music I'm trying to sleep. I did prefer when the cinema tent was more in the middle of the action in 2002 to it being off on the side last year.
Fantasia would be great, The Goonies, Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz (you guys ever watched it with dark side of the moon playing instead of the audio from the movie? start the cd on the 3rd roar of the lion, its really cool)
maybe we should do this together as a group tell me what u think:
they're gunna pick the top ten, so i was thinkin we could make this a poll on the forum and put as many of the ones ppl have been naming as we can... then, after a little while, we ALL vote for whatever the forum winner is... that way there is a better chance of it being there
TEXT I would say that the bestest, mostest, bonnaroostest maddening movies would be as follows:
Tron Willie WOnka and the Chocolate Fact. Wizard OF OZ The Freaks GhostBusters Dune The Dark Crystal Meet the Feebles The NeverEnding STory ANd the number one pick of this Bonnaroo Cinema Extrazaganza is Easy Rider Thanks, ENjoy the Show, and please wash hands when leaving!!!!!
My top films that I hope get shown are... Halfbaked(no one else mentioned this one) Fear and Loathing Big Lebowski Meeting People is Easy(Radiohead Film) The Matrix(the first one is the best one) Lord of the Rings(any or all would be fine) The Doors Billy Madison American Splendor(a new film to dvd that is awsome) Dazed and Confused 2001:A Space Oddessey(A Classic) Being John Malkovich
These are films I have expierenced in a different state of mind. I'm sure others would enjoy also.

i have a couple... Dazed and confused Planes Trains and Automobiles The Best of Will Farrel Dumb and dumber The Goonies Halfbaked Wet hot american summer Super Troopers I cant think of anymore right now.....but i think its a pretty good list.
Drugsdowork - I was begining to think I was the only Whedon fan on the board from the responses in the off-topic TV thread! Firefly would be excellent as would some of the better Buffy/Angel episodes (Hush, Restless, Once More With Feeling).
I've put in a few votes for Billy Madison since seeing it recommended here since it is clearly an underappreciated masterpiece of American cinema. I hope to someday write an essay about the post-modern deconstruction of the dumb comedy genre that Billy Madison represents. I know it sounds like I'm joking but I'm dead serious. One of the best ten Hollywood films of the '90's. If you've only seen Billy Madison once or twice, you should know that its only on the fourth or fifth viewing that it gets REALLY funny.

Has anyone seen this incredible production? Go to www.1giantleap.tv/php/summary.php?id=1 for more info. This DVD changed my perceptions. It should really be shown on the main stage screens with the major sound system, but it would work in the cinema tent too, and frankly I don't see BRoo trying anything as risky as a film instead of DJs between acts. Let's start a pay it forward plan. Anyone who has seen 1GL vote for it to be in the cinema tent and have three friends vote for it too. I had a dream about watching it at Bonnaroo!! Help me make it happen!!
Captain Fun aka Gus - Thanks for the heads up on 1 Giant Leap! The site looks really amazing and I already bought a "Trust the Media" t-shirt. Coolest T-shirt I've ever seen. I'll order the DVD and check it out soon. I'm a big DVD freak and spend way too much time on DVD web sites but somehow I've never heard of this. I'll definitely send some votes to Bonnaroo and I recommend everyone check out the link in Captain Fun's post above.
I already suggested REEFER MADNESS, so we could learn to save ourselves from ourselves --- but I just had to add ZARDOZ, the only flick where I went in straight and came out stoned - just from watching, not injesting!
A note of interest for any Waking Life fans out there:
The Tosca Strings who perform the soundtrack for Waking Life (and are featured in the second scene and the Tango Club later in the movie) are on several tracks of David Byrne's latest album Grown Backwards. I THINK they are on tour with Byrne now which would mean that the group responsible for the gorgeous music in Waking Life will be coming to Bonnaroo! All the more reason to feature Waking Life along with Stop Making Sense in the Cinema tent.
