So when I bought my tickets the main thing that made me decide to take the trip was the chance to see APC, and also the Kills and DFA1979 since none ever tour here.
But as we lead up to the days before the festival.. I really just can't wait to see My Morning Jacket.
I've been listening to Titus Andronicus on album and it hasn't really done much for me. But I hear people rave about their live show so I'm definitely planning to check it out
Right now we’re working on the actual technology to control all the cool stuff. Otherwise it’s just going to be a lot of expensive stuff up on a stage and everyone’s going to go, ‘Woo… But what does it do?’ And, we’ll go, ‘Well nothing, because we can’t get this quacking thing to work.’ But we’re working on it and I think we’ll figure it out.
If thats the case I think I'll be watching foo fighters
^ I think he's just blowing smoke up his own ass. It would be a major mistake on his production team's part not to have it ready for Lolla. They know that him being #6 on the lineup is a big deal and I think the only other DJ act to get one of the headlining slots has been Daft Punk.
But yeah, if it comes out that the setup is not ready, I won't be going anywhere near his show.

well... we got about 3 days left of rehearsals / production / designs and lighting programming and all that stuff.. then were good to go... i think. tomorrow is the day im going to hate the most... cabling / looming. But my good friends at www.brtbcanada.com/ are going to come in and help out with the flying spaghetti nightmare that will plug all the stuff in and make it go bloop bleep bleep derp.
How much you want to be he'll start way late due to technical issues?
I have a friend skipping all of Foo fighters for his set. I'm going to catch beginning of foos and have him text me and let me know whats going on with the setup so I know whether to leave or not

I just walked through Lollapalooza from end to end and its massive this year, basically goes all the way to Michigan avenue and covers every inch of Grant Park.
Perry's is beautiful. We are talking HUGE HUGE HUGE tent with sides that come down lower than Bonnaroo so it is much darker inside during the day. There are LED light structures all along the interior and roof, and the stage is made completely out of lighting rigs and video screens. Regarding the sides of the tent being lower, there are tons of quacking giant oscillating fans attached to the walls and roof of the tent. There is a bar on all three sides for drinks, etc, and a medical tent directly adjacent to it too. They are doing it right this year. Thats gunna be a party. It is definitely and I repeat definitely dark enough inside for the lighting rigs to work during the day. There are giant smoke machines too. Bonnaroo take notes on how to make an awesome tent. I was floored when I saw it, literally stood under it for a half hour taking it all in and talking to the security guys while the technicians tested all of the lighting and video screens. You guys are certainly in for a treat.
this is the best pic I could manage on my old iPhone, it in no way does it justice. However I went back later when it was dark and goooooood lord those video screens and lighting rigs are amazing.

Yea, it's kind of necessary at this point.
Here's how it would go though 1st. Very half-assed dance stage (The Lunar Stage) 2nd. Tent now but barely any production value 3rd. Slight improvement, adds lights, better dj's start coming in, better sound 4th. Finally getting it right, Underworld, Plastikman, James Murphy, Sasha, Leftfield, Daft Punk, Flying Lotus all play surprise 3 hour late night sets.

Oh and I'm still desperately looking for a way in on Friday. Can anyone help out in any way?
I don't know anyone selling anything. Just people looking. Your best bet is probably just to go there and scalp and not deal with Craigslist. Especially if you live close.

Tomorrow and Sunday I have actual tickets for so now I'm worry free. Tomorrow is gunna be insaaaaaaaaane. DFA1979 anyone? Oh yeah peoples....IM HAVING AN AFTERPARTY down the street from the park. Anyone from Inforoo is invited. We will be having DJs playing in my place, a pretty sweet loft overlooking the skyline. Shoot me a text and let me know who you are etc at 954-729-6711 if you wanna come. BYOB if you can would be appreciated, we'll be starting around 11 (so I have time to walk home and shower). Laggy this means you my Miami brethren.

I think Lolla fixed every problem that anyone has ever complained about. Lots of porta potties, easy commute from side to side of the fest, the main stages have plenty of room, and perry's.... damn, that is easily the best part now.
Pretty Lights/Skrillex after show was fantastic, typically hate the Congress, but it was a good vibe.

Perry's looks like a bigger version of the tent at Bisco with lights on the ceiling. I really wish I were at Lolla for that! What did they do with the stage they built specifically for Lady Gaga last year?

I just saw the food options that Lola offers. Chef Graham Elliot is the director of F&B ops. Wow. Those vendor menus look amazing: lobster rolls, truffle fries, scallops, ribs, banh mi sandwiches, deep dish. All local joints too.
