Also from what i found / thought "A common misbelief is that infestation can be spread by sitting on a toilet seat. This isn't likely, since lice cannot live long away from a warm human body. Also, lice do not have feet designed to walk or hold onto smooth surfaces such as toilet seats."
why hasn't anyone related the crab part to astrology? Cancer=crab. The stone (fort for a grab) of Cancer's is a moonstone. Can anyone make this go somewhere? My brain hurts
To tie in the "sorts" aspect of the clue, maybe its referring to not just John Legend... maybe him with the Roots. A character (John) of sorts(the roots) IDK, its a stretch.
Bouncing back to Mr. Claypool and the tweet about him
He has frequently gone by Colonel Les Claypool and has played at... how many Roos now? All of them? Damn near close if not. Double the veteran there from the title to the farm experience. I can't quite connect any of his various projects to the words "magistrate" or "throne", though - I'm not that much of a Claypool-head.
On my way home from work, I was trying to think of another word for fort. Some of these guesses are assuming that the crab is making his home in the throne, or whatever this is, but the clue specifically states "fort", which implies a battle or a defense.
Another word for fort (used as a noun in this case) is garrison.
IF we do choose to go the STD route for the "Crab" theory that I got bitched at for not agreeing with... Then i would add to the Titus Andronicus theory by saying they have a song, "a pot in which to piss" aka a throne

Also The Battle of Hampton Roads, which of course houses Virginia Beach and presumably many crabs.

I think I got the second part of the clue. Everyone keeps referring to the throne as the toilet but hows that relate to a crabs fort. Another word for toilet is can which crabs make forts of. Any help with the first part relating to can?

A Vet.... Some One Thats been around a while in their genre, I think any way
Magistrates....A Judge of some sorts?
A character of some sorts?
A Throne no one can abdicate..... A king that can't be taken off his throne?
Of which a crab can make a fort...no clue...Sand, Beach, Ocean floor, a barrel ?
Just trying to break it down maybe...I'll take my first (of many) wrong guesses..
Aerosmith..... NO real reason I guess this..
A vet... They been around a while.
A magistrate....Judge on American Idol
A character of some sorts...Steven Tyler plays himself on TV
A throne no one can abdicate...Rock and Roll hall of fame? Maybe has something to do with "Walk This Way" with Run-Dmc (One of their most famous lines "I'm the king of rock there is no higher)
Don't know how I can fit the whole crab thing in there...but i'll keep thinking..

The part with the crabs can make a fort if it has to do with astrology and the space...Then it could fit with Aerosmith because they had the title song for Armageddon

I can't stop thinking it is Levon Helm. That was my first thought when I read the clue. A veteran and a character, certainly, who spends his time on a throne. Not sure about the magistrate or crab part. Although, if you follow the crab/cancer logic, you can make the link to his throat cancer. That is a bit of a stretch, but it is the first clue I've even had a guess on.

Primus....Prime minister - magistrate? (a hint from JenJen)
Also - just throwing these out there, but thinking of like the word King (throne) - we have Kings Go Forth, and Decemberists just put out 'The King is Dead'.

Ha! Are we gonna get Garrison Keillor and A Prairie Home Companion?!
Well, he is a veteran (in radio and age) and can be sort of crabby. Sits on a throne in Lake Woebegone. The king of MN public radio!
