Sorry if this has been posted:
Passion Pit will release their sophomore album -- and their first for a major label -- this summer.
"Gossamer" (Columbia Records) boasts 12 new tracks and will be released July 24.
The Cambridge, Mass. band rocked packed houses and shook dance floors with their 2009 debut "Manners" (French Kiss Record).
“On 'Gossamer' there is more of a dichotomy between the lyrics and the music," explained frontman Michael Angelakos in a press release. "You hear my lyrics more precisely which is something I was ready for. The lyrics on this album have a lot to say about what the last two years of my life have been troubled with." Oh. Sad.

Hell yes.
Titus Andronicus have announced their follow up to 2010's excellent The Monitor. The album is titled Local Business, an apt title to match frontman Patrick Stickles' outspoken dedication to DIY, and will be out October 23 via XL Recordings. Local Business was recorded this spring in upstate New York, and deals with the "inherent meaninglessness of life" and how it empowers individuals to "create their own values and morality," according to a press release. It features Owen Pallett on violin, Steven Harm on harmonica, and Elio DeLuca on keys. Check out the tracklisting, below.
Titus have been playing new material live throughout the year, including "My Eating Disorder", "Upon Viewing Oregon's Landscape With the Flood of Detritus", "Ecce Homo", and "Still Life With Hot Deuce and Silver Platter", all of which made Local Business. Also included is "(I Am the) Electric Man", which Stickles wrote at the hospital last year after he was electrocuted (he Tweeted the lyrics, quite hilariously, if you recall).
The record follows last year's departures of guitarist Amy Klein and bassist Ian Graetzer. That's the current lineup, above: guitarist Liam Betson, drummer Eric Harm, frontman Patrick Stickles, guitarist Adam Reich, bassist Julian Veronesi.
Watch the band play the album's first two cuts, after the tracklisting. Also below, a performance of "A More Perfect Union" from the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival.
Local Business track listing:
01 Ecce Homo 02 Still Life With Hot Deuce and Silver Platter 03 Upon Viewing Oregon’s Landscape With the Flood of Detritus 04 Food Fight! 05 My Eating Disorder 06 Titus Andronicus VS. the Absurd Universe (3rd Round KO) 07 In a Big City 08 In a Small Body 09 (I Am the) Electric Man 10 Tried to Quit Smoking
