Continuing to celebrate 20 years as a band, Pearl Jam have some big plans for 2011. With the Live on Ten Legs live album schedule for release in January, the band have announced that they will host, curate and (presumably) headline their own music festival during the summer.
Longtime Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis broke the news on the group's new Sirius XM channel. He did not have details on exactly when or where the festival will take place, although Pearl Jam's hometown of Seattle has been ruled out. According to Curtis, it will happen "somewhere in the middle of the country."
Selfishly, I hope this takes place in Chicago. So far, no hint of dates or bands. Looked back on the PJ message board and found this fake lineup poster from 2009. At the time, someone was suggesting they do one on the east coast and one on the west coast.
