This sounds wonderful, but for that price, I could go to many more festivals. I don't need to be that pampered. I know that i could never get that many of my friends to cough up that kind of dough.
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
Half of the fun of Bonnaroo for me is mingling with the masses of humanity in the camps. Yes, I curse the heat and walk my ass off every year but that too is part of it. If you need that much luxury to endure Bonnaroo then just watch it all from the air conditioned comfort of your house!
My friend got snuck into Total Access/Guest areas backstage Saturday Night. He reported on it and it seems fucking awesome.
If I were really rich, and if the lineup was good enough, I would so do it. At this point, i'm setting up for my 6th Roo to be VIP, or try for a "miracle", at the risk of sounding like a wook.
I am going to go ahead a pre-plan for VIP RV next year as I am assuming this group of strangers (including me) won't pull this off...HOWEVER, I am still willing and if I get a PM thats says "we have 6 people, wanna go?" ...and the lineup is great....you can count on 2 more without a doubt!
I don't know if this was the norm or the exception but the guy that i met staying at Total access was a total tool! He was bitching and moaning about the fact that there were 20 buses and not 10 as they had been promised, blah, blah, blah! When I tried to change the subject (we were on the same flight, couldn't avoid him) and talk about music he didn't really care, he was there to drink and hang out with his friends. For him it was prestige and nothing else.
If you're gonna do it, make sure you do it with fellow music lovers.

There was a Total Access person with their little golf cart on standby last year at Kanye who yelled at the fellow volunteer I was with that she shouldn't be sitting on the trash structure. She was a complete biznitch. She acted like we were impeding her ability to recycle and that we should be doing our job. Which in her mind was probably to walk over and collect her trash from her hand and thank her for doing her part to stop global warming.
Do be careful who you go with. And don't let the money go to your head.
