I sort of doubt the schedule is coming out today. Low ticket sales make them want to release the schedule as late as possible, as the schedule release shatters the illusion that everyone will be able to see all their favorite bands. I think the reason the schedule was released earlier last year is higher ticket sales. I hope I am wrong, but I think there's a strong chance I'm right.
im going to get some good spots for some shows, nice tent location, but anything that pushes back our schedule or possibly threatens the future of the festival makes me uncomfortable. still hoping for today being the drop date. announcements on a tues to set up for some announcements on a thurs
bonnaroo on facebook is getting raped with people demanding the schedule too. i think that message today was to give the details of the new payment plan so they can still announce the schedule today. BUT that might also mean they want the payment plan to be highlighted for a little longer and not announce today or this week. maybe after they see how many people only care about the schedule they will just release it, but i doubt it. some people are threatening to buy lolla tickets if the schedule doesnt come out soon. i thought that was a fun threat

I def. think ticket sales are lower, I just remember getting email updates 1st tier sold out, 2nd tier sold out, 3rd tier sold out, vip sold out...I only remember from this year getting the 1st tier sell out update.....I remember that day of the lineup drop like it was yesterday, people were furious..so maybe a lot held true to there word and are not going.

Not to worry, I don't think one summer of low sales threatens the future of the Fest at all. They'll still draw 65-70k people and make plenty of money. And then NEXT year they are going to pull out all the stops for the 10th anniversary, and it's going to be a 90k+ clusterquack, so enjoy the extra space while you can.

Im w/ carpe on this....I almost feel like they experimented a little to see how much of a different crowd they could get w/more main stream music...next year for the 10th anniversary I cannot imagine them not pulling out everything...they should let the fans vote on the top bands @ Bonnaroo from the last 10 years and do it that way....but Phil Lesh still wont come

First and second tiers sold out in presale. Third tier sold out about 2 weeks after the lineup dropped. Not exactly a snail's pace, but slower than last year (in '09, third tier sold out the day tickets went back on sale)

Agreed, I think it's incredibly naive to think low-ish ticket sales would kill the festival. They're building a permanent main stage; I think they're doing ok...
I have proof the schedule is coming today. Last year the schedule came out 10 minutes before my final for my math class. Today I have my final in my math class at 3. So the schedule will be out around 2:50 today.
Your lips to God's ears. I'm having a seriously shitty day and really need something to life me up a bit. The schedule would do it.
I don't think the festival is in trouble. But I bet they've learned a lot this year about marketing, promotions, and bad publicity. In the end, it will work out better to have gone through this mess -- just like the long lines of years-ago helped develop a better system for today. They've demonstrated some intelligence and learning as an organization.
They're problem is that the more they piss people off this year, the longer they're apt to wait on buying tickets next year unless it's a gigantic indisputably barn-burning extravaganza.

I didn't attend in 2008, and I'm not attending this year. Neither time had anything to do with the lineup (to the contrary, I still think 2008's lineup is the best they've ever had), the marketing, or anything other than the fact that it was bad timing personally for me with work, school, whatever. I suspect it's the same for lots of people.
I guess, but I still if the lineup was betters, ticket sales would be better. It can't be personal obligations for everybody, there has to be a contingent of people who could go if they liked the lineup better.
FWIW, my friends and I are waiting for the schedule before we buy our tickets this year, last two years we got them when the lineup dropped. I doubt we are the only people like that this year.

In all fairness, we don't know for sure that ticket sales are bad this year. It is a reasonably safe assumption? Yes. I still think it will be around the same number of attendees as '08, which was very nice.

Patience. If it comes today, it will more than likely be released between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM. Wait until after that to complain.
