So, yeah... The talk on one of the local radio stations today was about MLB looking at starting around Memorial Day. I think that actually seems like a best case scenario, considering literally everything is on hold right now and changing every day. We could be looking at about a four month season, if we see some level of containment and new cases leveling off in the next few weeks. Gonna need 2-3 weeks for pitchers to get game innings once play resumes, whenever that is.
That might actually help my Indians, since two of our top three SP's in Clevinger and Carrasco are dealing with minor injuries that might have caused them to miss some time in April.
Not much interest yet I guess, but that's understandable right now. I'm in if we can get enough people. Never done fantasy baseball but I've done pretty well in my fantasy football career and actually prefer baseball.

The season is too long as it is, so starting Memorial Day weekend sounds pretty good to me

Hey all. I don't know much about baseball but my cousin (who is being indicted into the NY State high school hall of fame for softball) is a huge fan and knows her shit. She started a podcast during the quarantine all about baseball after having written about it for a few years. It's doing relatively well in the sports charts for a hobby started during the Coronavirus.
If you guys want to check it out or even just help it out a bit (subscriber, review....even if you don't listen) that'd be cool.
It's called Breaking Balls with Emily Nyman. If you check it out let me know what you think.
WARNING: She's a die-hard Yankees fan. A-Rod and Jeter for life for her. So Boston and other fans may not always like what she's saying lol

Clicked the link and was immediately met with a photo of Gerrit Cole in a Yankees uniform. I'm out.
lol. Somehow that I'm not aware of (I'm guessing because of the Softball Hall of Fame thing since it's for NY state?) she has been involved with some zoom chats with some big names in baseball (and a bunch of other randos) like Yankees GM Brian Cashman, YES Broadcaster Jack Curry, David Cone, Paul O'Neill, Aaron Boone, and at one point got into it with Yes Network reporter Meredith Marakovits when she was talking a little smack about A-Rod lol.
So yeah....if Yankees aren't your thing you may not love this. Though I believe she covers all topics and not just a Yankees love fest.

That's pretty big-time to interview Cashman and stuff.

Sorry.....Let me be totally clear......from what I can tell it is a GROUP zoom chat with her and many others. That isn't part of the podcast that I'm aware of (though she may bring it up/mention it on her show it's not like those are her guests). It's not like she talked to these people JUST for a podcast interview so I apologize if I was unclear. I believe it's related to her team from high school being inducted to the upcoming NY State hall of fame. I haven't asked her about it but she posts updates online and will brag about who she got to talk to with a screenshot and it's usually a bunch of people so while it's still really cool it's not just her one on one with others.
I only brought it up because I was shocked at the types of names she's been interacting with recently. Again....not a baseball fan but I knew most of the names lol
Nah you were pretty clear I've just been drinking.
Yeah, I was just trying to talk up her "bona fides" when it comes to baseball.
But yeah....if anyone checks it out and likes/dislikes/has comments i'd be interested. It's just weird but I feel kind of proud of her even though she's my age. This started as a "Well I guess i'll do a podcast during lockdown" and it gets decent numbers for a random baseball fan on certain sports charts so I'm happy for her.
