I'm not even sure I'll be lining up early on RSD. Possibly? I'm low on funds at the moment and nothing screams out as must have. Can't believe it's so soon. I keep forgetting.

So along with getting my mind blown by Deerhunter last night, my day in Atlanta also including my first visit to Fantasyland Records. Holy shit that place is awesome, probably the best record store I've ever been to. And I didn't even have near enough time to go through the whole place, I could've spent hours in there. So much good stuff that I had to make some very difficult decisions. The back two rooms with the Jazz/Classical/Oldies stuff and the Discount Room were almost overwhelming and I only had enough time for just a walk through back there. My only complaint was that the hip-hop section was slightly lacking.
Anyways, got some really great stuff for some very good prices:
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - I'm In Your Mind Fuzz Neil Young - After the Gold Rush Flying Lotus - You're Dead RTJ - Run the Jewels 2 Ty Segall - Melted Thee Oh Sees - Putrifiers II
The Go! Team - Thunder! Lightning! Strike! Metz/Mission of Burma 7" Mystery side by side 7" Notorious BIG - "Mo Money, Mo Problems" 12" Ol Dirty Bastard "Brooklyn Zoo"/"Shimmy Shimmy Ya" 12"

I was thinking about getting up early and going to do the RSD thing anyway (even with very little money and minimal interest in the releases) but when going over the list again I'm not sure it's worth getting out of bed so early. I usually enjoy waiting in line a couple hours and watching/reading stuff on my tablet and talking about releases with others.
Doesn't feel worth it.
BTW - Bullmoose has the records up with prices on their site....obviously some variance between record stores but it gives you a rough idea of what to expect: www.bullmoose.com/c/13242/rsd-2016
I saw it on his site, which is around the same price as Amazon, but thanks for the heads up. I have prime (free shipping) and also an Amazon gift card that makes this whole thing cheaper. Awesome.
Got Go! Team, Sun Ra, Regina Spektor LPs. Got the Notorious BIG 12". Got the Outlast 10". Got the mystery side by side. Got the Suspiria 7", which I didn't even know was a thing.
Thanks to a gift card, I kept it under $100.
Also if anyone finds the Metz/Burma split and wants the Outlast single, I'm listening.

There are two small record stores in Roanoke I'm going to hit up later today. One place is participating in a few exclusive RSD titles while also having a 20% off sale. The other place I don't believe is doing RSD exclusives (not really active in updating things online) but I did hear everything would be 10% off in-store.
I planned on leaving in about an hour, but a close friend called randomly saying he needed a ride to Roanoke around 4 so I am just going to wait for him.

Record Store Day turned into bouncing around three stores: Vinyl Renaissance, Slackers, and Hitt Records.
I only got one RSD-exclusive release, the Genesis of the Daleks vinyl. That'll make a nice anniversary present for my parents, who are both bigger Whovians than I. Picked up that one and the special edition of b'lieve I'm goin down by Kurt Vile at Slackers.
I also got I Love You, Honeybear and Primus and the Chocolate Factory at Vinyl Renaissance. I received a $5-off coupon with the purchase, so I'll have to go back soon.
But the most exciting purchase I made was at Hitt Records. I was able to pick up the store's only copy of the Blue Marvel 10th Anniversary edition of Sufjan Steven's Illinois, which is pretty fucking amazing. Hard to believe that I'm the proud owner of a 1-in-10,000 item. I'm never quite that lucky.
Although judging by what happened when I played my first copy of the album, it might never be opened for its own good.
Oh, and I got the Losing My Edge 12", so that's cool.

Sounds like we have similar buying habits. Snagged "b'lieve I'm goin down" last week, and "I Love You, Honeybear" today.

Yeah it seems like it.
I ended up opening the Illinois special edition just to play the "Chicago" demo. It sounds so good on vinyl.

RSD harvest. James Brown and his Revue: Live at the Apollo, METZ/Mission of Burma: Good not Great and Get Off 7in colored vinyl, Jason Molina: I'll Be Here in the Morning and Tower Song 7in, John Frusciante: Foregrow EP, David Bowie: 1966,Clint Mansell featuring Kronos Quartet: Requiem for a Dream soundtrack, Fela Kuti and Afrika '70: I Go Shout Plenty!!!, Mac Demarco: Another One (Demo) colored vinyl, John Coltrane: The Roulette Sides, Side by side-"I Started a Joke", performed by The Bee Gees and Faith No More, side by side-"This Must Be the Place (Naïve Melody)", performed by Talking Heads and Echosmith.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I hadn't heard they pressed the RfaD Soundtrack. I can't wait to hear this.

I highly recommend the "Another Day, Another Time" soundtrack that has a ton of great musicians doing songs from Inside Llewyn Davis and other tunes. Really great album.
This might be a little too much for me... how strange.
It's gonna sell in under 5 seconds. I'm gonna try and snag one just to flip for whatever idiot plans on paying like $500-$1000 like the Friday the 13th blood filled one.
RSD Haul includes the Requiem Soundtrack, ODB picture disc, Both Kinks ep's, The Easybeats, The Remains, Alt-j-Live, Roots Manuva EP, Monkees pic disc, and Sublime (unfortunately wasn't the green one). After flipping a bunch of other stuff I had like multiple copies of Monkees pic disc and the disney skeleton dance, I ended up only shelling out like $50.00 for everything I ended up with! This is how you do RSD!
And for anyone who plans on whining about flipping, get over it. First off, I put everything up for auction or a buy it now price $5-$10 less than the lowest selling price. Second of all, even for the people who jolt the prices crazy high, it's the fault of the people who are willing to pay that much that screw up the market.
I've been trying to stay away from vinyl for a while because I don't think I can afford it but lately I've been seriously considering getting into it.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions for someone starting from literally nothing and not wanting to spend thousands of dollars?
I would suggest getting your favorite albums first as those are what you're going to listen to most. As for turn tables I have a great Sony. The model is slipping my mind but just don't get a Crosley and you should be fine.
If you're trying to get quality stuff at a good price you can always find vintage stuff on Ebay. You can get a table, receiver, and speaker for a few hundred bucks.
