Lovin' Cokes Earthbound themed profile. Best game ever.
I got the full band signed MMJ The Waterfall at the show in NOLA Friday. It was $45. Not a bad price for a signed double LP with really nice packaging.
Magna Carta Holy Grail is almost as underrated as Yeezus is overrated. But Jack White needs to be stopped, this gimmicky bullshit has gone far enough. "Take out your fucking vintage switchblade and cut a whole in the record sleeve, pull out a fucking "flexi-postcard" and put it on your turntable to hear a hidden track!" Get the fuck out of here with this shit. This reminds me of the early 90s, when the comic book industry released all these garbage gimmick covers in an attempt to goose collectors into hoarding them. "Go buy the new Spider Man! It's got SILVER EMBOSSED FOIL WEBBING ON THE COVER! And don't forget Wolverine, if you rub his claws with your thumb they start dripping with blood! TOTALLY EXTREME! Only 10000000000 of these will be printed!"
They've been making those for years. Jack isn't the first to put a song in a postcard.

But Jack has been leading the charge in the tchotchke-ification of vinyl. It's like he read the first two chapters of a case study on Beanie Babies and decided, "YES, this is how I'm gonna run Third Man Records."
I recently just purchased my first turntable from a coworker, and acquired my mom's old receiver, subwoofer, and speakers. Needless to say I've been pretty giddy about it. That, combined with a recent promotion, has led me to kind of go a little crazy getting my collection started over the past couple weeks. Here's what I've picked up:

James Album Father John Misty - I Love You Honeybear (Tri-colored Vinyl) Dinosaur Jr - Farm Radiohead - In Rainbows Tame Impala - Lonerism OutKast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik OutKast - Aquemeni Slint - Spiderland Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the 36 Chambers (wish I would've looked into this release more before buying, but still cool to own) Palace Music - Viva Last Blues Graveyard - s/t
Stuff given to me from my dads collection: ELO - Out Of The Blue Eagles - Hotel California The Grateful Dead - Live 71' Double LP (Skull and Roses) Led Zeppelin - Untitled (IV) Emerson, Lake, And Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery Emerson, Lake, And Palmer - Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends, Ladies and Gentleman (Live 3XLP) Black Sabbath - Paranoid Pink Floyd - The Wall Beatles - Beatles Again Beatles - Let It Be Deep Purple - Purple Passages
So the reissue of Takk by Sigur Ros is supposed to come out today. Did anyone preorder it? I didn't hear about it until yesterday or else I would've hopped on it immediately.

I know its just a prototype, and I know there is no tonearm for some reason, but I'm thinking this will be pricey. It would be exciting if Technics could bring back a direct drive table with specs similar to the 1200, even if the price does have to come up.

Just picked up some great used records today at my favorite store: Pissed Jeans- Hope for Men (white vinyl), Superchunk-Foolish (early pressing), Anthrax- State of Euphoria, and AC/DC- Let There be Rock, all for around $45.
Lowe and the library staff are still sorting through the collection to find out what will be for sale at the party, which takes place in just under two weeks on Thursday, September 17. "We're going through and weeding things out mostly to get rid of duplicates. We've got six to seven copies of some records, which probably isn't as necessary as it was in the '80s" Lowe says with a laugh. "We're still frantically pulling things to get ready."
She estimates somewhere between 3,000 and 6,000 records will be for sale, all priced at $2 apiece. "A good portion of our collection is classical, as you might expect from a library. There's a good-sized jazz collection and a decent pop collection," Lowe says. As a punk rock fan, she does make one admission: "There's not much punk rock, unfortunately."
Did you guys know that there are vinyl raffle groups on fb.? This shit is dangerous! Lots of out of print stuff being raffled too. I feel like I need to go to gambling rehab. I did win a Pumkins Aeroplane LP box recently though. And I raffled an extra Tool Ænima OG pressing that I had to help support the addiction.
It took 83 days for the Susanne Sundfor album to arrive from London. Package was so wet that the water broke the seal of the vinyl and ruined everything inside. Amazon gave me a $15 credit to ship back to the UK but shipping cost $35. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
My Michael Kiwanuka arrived from the UK with water damage and took around a month in shipping. I've had Jessie Ware's first one shipped from across the pond with no problems and I recently ordered Benjamin Clementine and received it in about a week. Those LP's always have high quality sound in my experience.
Run the jewels.. Meow the jewels just dropped.. 10 test pressing available at $200.. snagged one!
i got one too! don't know what the hell is wrong with me. i just wanted it. so 20% of the MTJ test pressings are owned by inforooers.
Awesome. You guys are crazy. I couldn't imagine spending that but very cool. I expect photos and details when you both get 'em. I just ordered a regular vinyl which was still a little out of my price range but I can't miss out on this. I missed out on the original orders of RTJ first two albums so I wanted to grab this bad boy early. Still can't believe they went through with this but it's fantastic.

When I saw the proceeds were going to charity I said to myself just buy it. It'll make me happy to own it and I feel confident they'll pick a worthy charity to donate it to.
