Just used NOAA's heat index calculator and the humidities in the heat of the day are (according to the 6-30 forecast)
Thur 75% Fri 60% Sat 70%
That's ridiculous (and I'm not sure I believe it). To give you a comparison, average afternoon humidities in the worst parts of LA, FL and TX in July and Aug are in the mid 60%. (from NOAA Climate data)
This type of humidity would all but guarantee thundershowers, and very possibly strong ones.
Ugggghh. That shit looks brutal. I can deal with the rain, I can deal with dust or mud, but when I'm out in the sun for hours at a time, and the weather is ridiculously humid and peaking in the 100's every day- that I can't deal with.
I may need to rethink my decision to camp out at the Which Stage for Animal Collective > Yeah Yeah Yeahs > TV on the Radio.... naah, who am I kldding?
Eh, calm down you ninnies. I live in South Florida, it was a high of 86 with 91% Humidity through the entire day yesterday.
The heat is different at Roo than it is down here in south and central FL. The heat index here rarely gets much more than 5 degrees or so above the actual temp, but at Roo it can be 20 degrees more than the temp. So in FL if it's 88, it might feel like it's in the low/mid 90s, but at Roo that can feel like 108.
11. What Is Allowed in Centeroo - Factory sealed bottles water (non-glass containers) - Empty water bottles (non-glass containers) - Non-framed backpacks (they will be subject to inspection at venue gates) - Low seated concert chairs (chairs must sit less than 1ft off the ground) - Blankets 12. What Is Not Allowed in Centeroo - No glass or cans - No food or drinks – other than factory sealed water bottles and small snacks - No folding chairs other than low seated concert chairs (chairs must sit less than 1 ft off the ground).
Yeah they sit really low to the ground. I actually got the idea from seeing dozens of people with them last year. When we saw them in centeroo we were really envious of the built in shade. They sell the ones that sit taller but I got the short ones for this specific reason.
