To me face melting is that point in a show when the band is just rocking SO hard that all you can do is drop you jaw and stare at your friends. that happend at oysterhead in 06 when trey brought out the matterhorn

for me it's when I'm so into a show that I'm not dancing or looking around or doing anything other than staring in amazement. I forget about all space and time except what I am seeing and feeling and slowly let my face melt away.
"All in all, the creative act is not performed by the artist alone.. the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act." -- Marcel Duchamp
you will absolutely know for sure when it happens to you.
"Like I told you, what I said, Steal your face right off your head."
-He's Gone - The Grateful Dead
also i recall a moment after starscape during set break of the biscuits...sitting with my friends woozie and another few friends and i said to him 'the biscuits just literally handed my brain to me on a silver platter..and were like 'here you go becca - your brain!!!" thats what it feels like..its just this wowowowowowowowowowowoowowowowowWOWOWOWOOWOWOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWOWOOW moment.
i think this just proves the point even moreso than before that different strokes for different folks. cuz ive seen !!! more than one time, and my face def did NOT melt. i mean it was a fun show and i danced...but no face melting had.
