The site I bought mine from said this about their products:
"Our glow-in-the-dark products are non-toxic. They are not radioactive and they are not flammable. The almost never break open, but if they do, the chemicals inside can be washed off skin and clothes with ordinary soap or detergent."
well seeing as how i'm leaving my armani 3 piece suits at home and bringing the same clothes that have survived the last 3-4 festivals i've gone to, stains be damned
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
Is everyone really THAT excited for a glowstick war? Not trying to put a damper on the fun, I just can't believe there is this much discussion around it.
Go to youtube and search for glowstick wars - in an enhanced state of mind - they are awesome (btw - my first experience with glowstick wars was last year at Bonnaroo)

We're really just killing time while we wait for June. Look around. There are lengthy discussions about shoes, water, cigarettes, bugs, skirts, tv shows, unicorns and ninjas. We're just bored.
Though, I must admit that thousands of glow-sticks flying overhead can be quite amazing once you get your head straight!
I guess that's the thing, this could be my 50th glowstick war, at least. They are fun to watch. If you haven't seen one before, I guess it can be worth talking about endlessly.
I didn't read the entire thread so sorry if it's been mentioned but I think Manu Chao would be great for a glowstick war. I'm a little bummed they haven't been getting more hype around here, I really think they are going to be one of the biggest highlights of the weekend.

This will be my first roo. And i cant wait to see what its like to see all these glowsticks flying. Its probably a trip!?
Thoroughly excited here too... I'm just trying to figure out where to get mass quantities of them without spending mass quantities of money... and I dont have pay pal so that kindof takes out the e-bay equation... and you can only ever find them in stores around halloween time

I can usually find them in the cheap little dollar stores, but they aren't nearly as cheap as they are on ebay.

HA!... I totally went to Party City today ... and they had a ton of them on clearance so I got about 100 bracelets (actually it was 16 packs of 6 so.... 96) for $12 ... made me happy
Oh man I'm totally going to be all covered in glowsticks for Police then FLips and then DJ Sasha. Also Tool deserves a a good glowstick war just because there a psychadelic band and it could get really wierd and trippy and I have a wierd feeling Maynard will like it. Also imagine for the FLips just imagine glowsticks flying around amongst the balloons and confetti and smoke. MADNESS!!!! ;D

"You're either on the bus or off the bus." Ken Kesey
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson
Sorry to go off topic a bit, but at Wanee for the Allman Brothers first set, there were glowsticks everywhere. Some dude was shooting them out of a shirt gun and glow sticks were being thrown for 3 hours straight. It was awesome.

I think the Lips have the best chance to be the biggest war of the fest, unless Cheese has a late-night too. Wait STS9 is gonna be crazy with the sticks also.....oh man so will Sasha and Digweed. The farm is gonna be glowin all weekend. ;D ;D
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
the glowsticks i'm familiar with are hard plastic but if i can take a gallon jug of water to the head ala all the douchebags at woodstock 99 i think i'll be fine ;D
everyone calls them glow 'sticks' just out of convenience really, the ones we're referring to aren't the hard plastic immobile ones, but the flexible plastic ones used for making bracelets and necklaces.
sorry to hear about the gallon of water though bro, thats ridiculous

The Flips had a crazy glowstick storm in 03... wayne laughed and encouraged everyone to throw them all at him...
I cant wait... Im just praying that flaming lips/ sts9/ and sasha dont overlap...

Don't bring em to STS9 I repeat DO NOT THROW GLOWSTICKS AT STS9. They have a policy against them (check their website) because they're tired of being pegged by em.

while i couldn't agree with you more as to throwing them AT the band, see the first 8 pages of this thread for an entire discussion as to the merits of bringing them to the show in general.

STS9 being brought up again reminded me of a great moment in '02 when Keller was playing latenight w/ SCI.
bottle rockets were going off and Keller worked the phrase "Please don't hit me" into the show.
ive been listnening to this show non stop since i got the soundboards. incredible show and neat to know that was what he was talking about and the crowds reaction to him saying thta. damn i hope we get kwi latenight this year!!
