We were roving around the VIP area late late on Sunday night and few people were up. We ran across these cats that were still raging. It was the guy that dressed as Elvis and his crew. The have a band called The Ground Up and gave all of us CDs.
After a little bit, they played this video for us.
(I don't know how to get rid of the ad on the right....)
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
wished I had met up with them. I was roaming around like a dumb ass in my pj's and blankie, trying to figure out wtf to do. Could not sleep, and had just left that awful quacking noise coming from the What stage.

"Bow in the presence of greatness 'Cause right now thou hast forsaken us. You should be honoured by my lateness, That I would even show up to this fake poop."
So was there every any legit documentation of him being in ATL prior to the show? I know the rumor is that he was down their w/ Jeezy and had to fly back to TN and then drive back to the Farm, but I never actually read it from a reputable source. I'm just curious, cause I had a mild disagreement w/ a friend over weather or not it really happened...
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "

^^I believe that looped song before MMJ went on was actually their doing. They apparently play that song before many shows on their tour, if not all of them maybe? There's a thread about it on here somewhere...
I thought this was actually a live track being played by the horn section. Because when I listen to the live show from 'roo vs. the Darjeeling soundtrack, there are no horns just sitar (or some similar instrument). However, the track continues to play into the first few seconds of Evil Urges.
It all comes down to the fact that he is possibly the most hypocritical poster on this board - he bashes fans of other music all the time without ever actually getting to know them (remembering his posts about Radiohead in 2006 and Tool last year), and dismisses those fans as "ruining the scene" when he's more close-minded about other types of music than anyone. He calls bands like Death Cab for Cutie, who might have had one or two radio hits "mainstream", while ignoring that the Grateful Dead are perhaps the most over-merchandised band on the planet.
And you can't argue logic with him - not at all. He'll reply in a very poorly-worded, rambling paragraph devoid of proper punctuation and anything resembling a coherent thesis.
I had no intention of getting involved with this, but this post is just silly and every bit as illogical as you accuse Dude of being. First of all, yeah, he was upset and b!tched about Radiohead . . . (oh, sh!t, I just used an ellipsis. I guess there's not going to be any logic to my argument) and then when he got back, he was the first one to admit that he was totally wrong about that whole situation. See, that's what's funny about Dude. Unlike some people, he's capable of admitting he was wrong about something (not that he does so very often, but he most definitely can).
Now, the other thing is talking about how he uses no logic, but just rambles incoherently. When he first started on Inforoo, he and I had a series of disagreements about Matisyahu and Orthodox Judaism (I was Hilari then. I deleted that account awhile back). They were logical and coherent. They were also extremely civil. Neither of us called the other names or talked about how stupid and ridiculous the other one was. (Incidentally, I didn't actually believe in the side I was arguing. I was just playing devil's advocate and enjoying arguing. What can I say? I'm a lawyer.) See, that's the other thing about Dude. He might come in here and b!tch, but he doesn't get personal until the person he's arguing with gets personal with him . . . and he most definitely can make a logical argument.
Dude gives plenty of people plenty of sh!t to b!tch back at him about. But if you're going to do that, try to be a little accurate.
And like Becca said, from personal experience, Dude's a good guy.
And like Strum said, if you don't want to hear his opinion, it'll be a lot more effective to just ignore him because if you tell him how much you don't want to hear it, he's just going to say it louder.
Edit: Oh yeah, and so that I'm saying something on topic . . . that picture made me LOL, LordRockinHood!

Amy Winehouse Reportedly Punches Fan, Disses Kanye West At Glastonbury Festival
West blogs, 'Amy Winehouse hates me!!! Now I've really made it!!! LOL!!!!'
By Gil Kaufman
Amy Winehouse managed to stir up some controversy, even during a relatively smooth set, Saturday night at the Glastonbury Festival in England.
Performing her signature hit "Rehab" while walking along the front row of the audience, Winehouse appeared to punch an unseen fan, judging by a video posted on the BBC News Web site. As she continues singing, Winehouse can be heard grunting as she thrusts a fist into the crowd, then quickly scampers backwards on her high heels under the watch of several large security guards. On continuing her forward progress, she appeared to glare at the person in the spot where the incident took place.
According to the BBC, police said they had received no complaints of assault following the show, and festival organizers said there would be no investigation into the incident. Festival founder Michael Eavis defended Winehouse, saying she appeared to have lashed out at the crowd after being touched by a fan, telling various British media outlets that the audience member had either grabbed the singer's signature beehive hairdo or one of her breasts. It was unclear from the video what provoked the action. But Eavis, describing her set as a "triumph," said that the singer asked if she could headline the fest next year.
During Winehouse's set, the singer also reportedly addressed Kanye West in the midst of performing "Some Unholy War." Festival attendees reported she improvised the lyrics to say, "At least I'm not opening for a c--t like Kanye."
Winehouse and West have no previous bad history, but there has been speculation that the line may be due to the bad publicity West garnered at another festival, the Tennessee-based Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. During that show West's set was delayed for hours, raising the ire of fans and media alike. West has since defended himself on his Web site with a passionate rant on his blog. He has already responded to Winehouse's comment with a brief, lighthearted blog headline stating, "This Just In...Amy Winehouse Hates Me!!! Now I've Really Made It!!! LOL!!!!"
Earlier in the week, it was unclear if Winehouse would even be able to make it to the gig at all, following nearly a week of hospitalization for what her handlers said was treatment for pre-emphysema symptoms. But, following a well-received two-song mini set Friday night at a 90th birthday celebration for Nelson Mandela, Winehouse made it to Glastonbury and performed for an hour in front of an estimated 80,000 fans. It was her first full performance in England in seven months, a period during which she canceled nearly all her shows in order to deal with her ongoing health and personal issues.
The night was a bit less rocky for Jay-Z, who took the stage after Winehouse for a set that came pre-packaged with its own controversy. The rapper, the first hip-hop artist to headline the legendary English festival, had been dogged for months ahead of the gig by rumors of disgruntlement over his headlining slot. With his signature swagger intact, Jigga prepped the stage with an introduction that included tape of a BBC interview with Oasis guitarist/singer Noel Gallagher saying that hip-hop was "wrong" for Glastonbury. He then walked on to the strains of Oasis' "Wonderwall" and confronted the audience.
"So they say you guys didn't want to be here tonight," he said, according to the BBC. "They said you guys weren't into hip-hop." The crowd reacted by chanting his name, and Jay thanked them, saying "This is a beautiful moment, I'm glad to share it with each and every one of you."

Wow, getting blasted at each continent's premier festivals is just hilarious. I just cant help but to laugh at all of this, and I am usually not one to enjoy the downfall of celebrities.
I still hope that South Park has an episode in store for Kanye ala Bono style.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

So Ben Sollee, cellist for Abigail Washburn's Sparrow Quartet, singer/songwriter and all around decent guy, posted a new song of his on his myspace page called "Dear Kanye". Sounds like it was written mainly in response to the Bonnaroo debacle. Check it out, very incisive and funny and therapeutic.
