Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
well nudity is a given. but most people dont have sex in plain view. it happens but in 3 roos ive never seen it. but ive heard of it happening. so its unlikely youd see that. but ti is roo and anything is possible. and people will pee around camp. usually its on a car tire or some other out of the way place. and most use the johns for poopin. ive never had a stink problem or anything though except from the porta potty area..
I'm another one who's gonna have to jump on the "I've never seen it, only heard about it" sex bandwagon, so I'd be really surprised to encounter it. The nudity is also pretty rare, and trying to think back, I think I've only ever seen one topless girl who just seemed to be trying to cool off, some stripped down people getting clean in the mushroom fountain, and maybe some people with body painting, nothing actually sexual.
I certainly have never encountered any peeing or anything in the tent area! I've seen guys peeing, but usually in out of the way places. Oh yeah, don't sit anywhere near the giant pink wall that you'll see in centertoo, no matter how tempting it's shade may be - it's on the edge of the main stage seating area - it's the most notorious pee place!

I have in fact seen a couple getting it on once. It was at the very first roo. There is a real sharp curve on BB road right before the main entrance. Just on the other side of the fence at this curve there is a very small wooded area (that IS NOT hidden from plain sight). A buddy and I were walking outside on the main road one night at the 02 roo and there was a couple on a fallen tree right in this small wooded area doing the nasty.
they weren't real loud or obvious, but they were certainly getting it on!

I'm glad to see most of you guys haven't experienced people having sex for the world to see. We're expecting some nudity, but that would be going a little too far, IMHO.
I'm not worried about the other issue, especially since we wouldn't be in a tent anyway. I did feel for the guy, when I was reading that though. His neighbor wasn't just peeing.

in regards to public excretion of waste...
last year, at GRAB, there was this drunk ass dude who staggered over by us, and whipped out his schlong and started peeing on the ground.
realize that we were on the right side of the tent, not even inside, and about 15 feet behind us were portapottys.
well the ground was a slope, and his urine stream began running down the hill, right into a group of people sleeping directly on the ground. they slowly realized what was happening, and the man sat back down next to them (i guess he was with their group)
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
we saw a horse take a giant piss near our tent. like gallons. and then some spun girl came and tried to lift her skirt and pee in the same spot. she fell. peed on herself. and then pulled her friend down when she tried to help her up. they rolled around in it for a minute and then somedudes showed up and physically carreied the one chick away with her ass in the air and her underware around her ankles. it was pretty entertaining.
I saw a naked couple engaging in a mild sex act and shooting each other up with SOMETHING right at the edge of the woods, but not in deep enough to conceal the scene, on a walk to Centeroo in 2004. That said, it was the only time I've ever seen something that extreme.

Unfortunately I have seen people doing it twice at the roo. UGH
Last year; behind the tiki bar - which by the way is our spot to regroup after the headliner and prior to the late night sets. Well hell Saturday night it was closed - 2 exed out folks were behind the bar; multiple positions; numerous witnesses; foul foul conditions - BLECH
Now in 02 we saw a guy get a spectacluar hummer on top of an RV with a full moon behind him and his girl. 4 AM as we once again were regrouping - this time for the Particle epic show. Much more entertaining than the tiki bar incident IMHO
I must be missing something at roo. I've seen zero booty calls. Some nudity but most of that is body paint and I didn't realize she was teh nakked till my buddy pointed it out. Peeing yeah, but none have been "Hay here's an open spot," type thing usually against the portta johns during the late night sets.

Thanks for the link, & to everyone for the feedback on my question.
We've decided we'll probably wait until the 14th, & see what they have available for accommodations. We'll weigh the options & book that day.
I know many of you wanted the info released sooner. For you guys, it's a bummer they're waiting longer than usual. For us, it works out perfectly. I'll be able to purchase the tickets & hopefully book our accommodations, then when our son get's in from school, I plan to put a sign on the outside of the door that says, "Happy Birthday!!! You're going to Bonnaroo!!!"

I know you'll all be shocked, but I have another question. All the posts about people sitting, lying, etc. on the ground & listening to the music, napping, or whatever brought me back to reality a bit. It also makes me sad that those days for me seem to be over. Anyway, I'm wondering what the rules are as far as what you're allowed to bring into Centeroo. I have a waterproof (beach) blanket to bring for my guys to site on. My concern is whether or not we'll be allowed to sit a chair on the blanket for me? Thanks again
they allow you to bring in small chairs. i think the rule is a foot of the ground but i have always brought in my regular everyday camping chairs and they have never said anything about it. so youll be fine with a chair.

I'm pretty sure you can take folding chairs in. I know I saw lots of people with them. I just took an old cotton blanket in with me, it was lightweight and I didn't care if it got trashed by people walking all over it. Here is last years guide:
I'm sure most have not had a problem......but we had regular fold out stick sruff in a holder camp chairs and got denied. Right next to the guys checking was a huge pile o chairs. They have to be the low riding chairs. I'm sure alot of people got the regulars in, just saying there is a slight risk. We had a pretty hefty walk to our campsite so the chairs went on the pile. I think alot of the full height chairs you see are from VIP's since from all accounts they are not checked as close as GM. Just the experience I had anyway.

I'd recommend something light and easy to carry, like a fishing stool. You're going to do a lot of walking and the comfort you're looking for while sitting is only the half of it. You want to carry something that won't break your back!
Hello, I just wanted to let you know, in case you didn't already, the first tier of tickets go on sale as well as the posting of the initial artist lineup.
Personally, as it has been formerly said, you have one lucky son, but on the contrary, your Roo experience will be one of the most amazing things ever!!!
Wal mart sells these low riding folding chairs that are incorporated into a backpack. Basically it is a back pack that uses a small folding chair as its frame.
I am thinking about getting one of those this year and see how it holds up.
I have taken chairs into centeroo before and have went without them. If you are planning on being in centeroo for most all of the day, i would certainly reccomend lugging a chair along with you.
there are times when you really need to just sit back and relax, its nice to have a chair with a back on it to do so....

good advice. i can usually rock the ground, but i really don't care if i get dirty when i'm at roo. i liek to use chairs for some fo the bigger shows. like last chairs were sued for phil lesh, tom petty, and we brought in radiohead "just in case". their live show is so mind blowingly face melting we didn't know when we'd need to sit down
when we were parked last year the parking guys only left about 3 feet between the car in front of us and behind us, if we were not going to tent only it would have been a dilema, so moral of story, make sure if you're camping at your car you communicate with the parking attendant if he is trying to box you in really tight.
i have one of those backpack chairs. and i got it at walmart. i recommend trying it out at walmart. the one i have is pretty uncomfortable. the fabric gets tight in weird spots and after a couple of minutest it feels like there is steel bar or something goin across your back. i was glad i gave it a try before roo because it would have sucked. obviously it might not even be the same chair but just a heads up mine sucks.

We bought a "zip-up" outdoor blanket from Bed Bath & Beyond last year. It was perfect. Not only was it water-proof, but it was both light-weight and easy to rinse off. It also had a strap, so once you zipped it, you could carry it like a small bag (very, very light weight). It also had a pocket on the outside that you coud use once zipped, and it was perfect for our maps & t-shirts.
I have the little low beach chairs, got them at Wally World. Heald up two years so far, a little akward to carry sometimes, but well worth it after a day of rooing. Has a pocket on it to carry com of your stuff in.

Yeah i got one of these at Walmart. I put clips where the strap goes and cliped it to my belt loop. If i wanted a blanket i would bust it out. If i wanted to just sit myself down i could just sit down on a nice wad of softness. They are awesome.

soo this chair talk reminded me of our "trojan rug" scheme from last year.
We purchased a rug at a yard sale on the way down - we thought we were kings of the world having a kick ass rug in front of our tents. Sunday night we pondered what the heck we would do with the rug and decided to bring it into the show to chill on. Then the brain started churnin and we decided to roll it up; fill it with beer and ice and carry it in. Unbelievably no one said a word to us
then in a simple twist of fate at halfime we decided the rug was wrong and we needed to be up front. My sily pals wanted to bequeeth the rug to someone less fortunate - turned out that the first guys they asked were friends of mine who I hadn't seen in over 29 years.
