oh no, and i'm also apparently too special to use last.fm! i signed up, downloaded the software, enabled scrobbling, it found my windows media player... and now i'm listening to a plethora of songs on my wmp, and the last.fm software is running, and it says its scrobbling, but... alas... nothing changes on my recent tracks page or anything, it says i've played no music

it's sad though, it is working, but at least one out of every four songs i listen to isn't on their list or in their database or whatever... so it just ignores it. all my songs are mp3 format played in windows media player...

This happens to me with alot of the music that I've ripped from my cd collection. Because I didn't put in all the info when I ripped it, Last.FM doesn't recognize it. Luckily most of the music I have I've downloaded, so no problems there.
Sorry to double post, but does anyone know how they tabulate the charts for groups?
It's obviously not done by straight listens -- some sort of weighted system, maybe?
I was trying to figure this one out as well. The only thing I can come up with is that it goes by members. Like Sufjan Steven is #1 this week in our group with "10" listens. So maybe 10 members listened to him over the course of the week? (shrugs)
Just wanted to say that I joined, but still am far from mastering the software. My name on last.fm is j_brewski ;D
This was definitely a great idea because it's been exposing me to a lot of good tunes, so thanks to everyone who is using it! and to melikecheese for starting it up.
I just want to say that I deny the fact that I actually listened to Mariah Carey. I have no idea how she got on my list of recent tracks....... ???
Suuuuuure you don't
Actually I know exactly what you mean - I was listening to the player and it goes from Allman Bros to Kenny Chesney... That really caught me off guard. At least I know how to use the 'skip' button now
I having problem with my player Scrobbling my CD's. I t was doing it until late last night. Is there a way to fix this? I might just be better off just re-installing the software.

Whats the problem LIGuy? Is it just not scrobbing tracks? Be sure the status bar along the bottom doesn't say something like "submission server down". This happens from time to time.

Looks Like Arcade Fire is the number 1 artist this week. Would love to see them play this year.
Now is a great time to start listening to the Group Radio, we had a few weeks to get things tracked, who knows what you will hear now.
The top albums of the week are interesting as well, if you hit more reports you can change this and get a list by Albums and song too.
Top 5 Albums (followed by users who listened to a song off it):
1 The Arcade Fire – Funeral 10 2 The Arcade Fire – Neon Bible 8 3 Hot Chip – The Warning 6 3 The Shins – Oh, Inverted World 6 5 Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea 5
Top 5 Songs:
1 The Arcade Fire – Black Mirror 8 1 The Arcade Fire – Intervention 8 1 The Arcade Fire – No Cars Go 8 4 The Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) 7 5 The Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) 6
Personally I don't like Black Mirror that much, Intervention is wonderful. Would have liked to see that as the US single.
