Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The presence of fake pot (really), DEA hippies visiting campsites Wed night & Thurs, and inherent difference in the crowd from the past made it feel really different. I still enjoyed the music though, nothing ruined it enough to overpower what I enjoyed at Bonnaroo
I cant beleive how many times i heard "yayo". Or how many wannabe thugs were everywhere. Thank god most of the music rocked. Everything else about the festival this year was pretty lame. I still do not know how you can arrive 30min before the gates open and still get the most horrible camping.
My buddy was hit with some acid water. He wasnt complaining. The stuff we bought earlier sure wasnt legit.

A hippie 5-0 approached us in the parking lot of Wal-Mart Wednesday night, dressed in a uniform from the Wal-Mart gas station. He told us that if we needed ANYTHING, to let him know. Then he wandered off and said the same thing to everyone he could find in the lot. Tacky..
I dunno, I had an amazing time. Didn't have any trouble w/ cops/security. It was easy as hell getting in Centeroo, most folks just let us pass through w/out checking us at all. We couldn't have asked for better neighbors, either. I guess everyone's experience was different.
I just signed up with the board after returning-I went with someone originally from the board. I camped with a bunch of people from Inforoo, and I could NOT have asked for better neighbors. Great people to hang out with, and everyone kept a real close eye on everyone else's gear. This may have been my first time, but I can't imagine it getting any better. It was like camping with family. BonnaroO!

Were you the dude who my friends and I talked to on Thursday night/ Friday morning, sleeping in the chair under the tarp with a blanket? If you were, glad to see you made it. I wish I could have been there.
I really thought the atmosphere this year was great. You had different fans brought together by all types of music and the majority getting along with each other. I an't ask for more than that.
There were some shady people, but it didn't seem any worse than in 04. What bothered me was the particular shortage on shakedown that I'm sure most of us know about. What was the deal with that? Anything you want, except the delicious smoke that we all desired. It's like one guy said to me, that I thought was funny...."How are we supposed to be hippies, if we can't get our hippie smoke on?"
This was my first year so I really have nothing to base my opinion on, but I did have a wonderful time. I was not familiar with a lot of the indie bands/artists that were performing so I was surprised to see as many "hipsters" or "indie kids" as I did (I may have gotten the terminology wrong but I have no other way to describe them!) Do you think it was because of Radiohead headlining? Do you think Bonnaroo is going in a different direction? I'm curious as to what veteran Rooers think. Either way, my friend and I had a blast, we hadn't experienced anything like that before!
I'm what you could probably classify as a "hipster" or "indie kid" and I went for Radiohead, but I ended up enjoying pretty much everyone I saw. Checked out moe and some other bands I wouldn't ever really listen to otherwise.
As far as it going in a different direction, I'm hoping next year they do the same thing they did this year. Have it mostly jam-based, but throw in a bunch of really great/staple indie and alt rock bands. Just bands that almost anyone who likes music could enjoy.
I saw a few bands I wouldn't have seen if I didn't bring my friend along with my who's into more indie bands. I was really impressed by The Magic Numbers. I was just curious, I guess because I expected something different. Definitely wasn't disappointed though!

I swear we walked around the whole farm thursday looking for smoke and couldn't find jack. When we actually found something of B-Roo quality we were told it was $75 for an 1/8!!!!!!Other than that the music was absolutely incredible.

an inside source who worked the roo told me they siezed 50 pounds of smokage from one vehical on thursday. That may have been part of the cause of the drought.
the guy who 'searched' my truck (really just asked me 'do you have any glass?') told me they took 10 pounds out of a truck a couple before mine. Evidentally the dude had it seatbelted in the passenger seat-didn't even try to conceal it. This was about 4am.
Makes you wonder, right? I didn't bring anything bad in except a little personal protection, but why be so blatant when they really aren't even checking?
they had a dog sniff my car at the gate, we had a couple joints but luckily they didnt find it in the search, and then a girl came through our camp with some nugs so we were ok. and to everyone who got ripped off, ha ha custies, no just kidding, hey, ya live ya learn, assume anything that you dont know to be real is fake (chocholates? etc.)
but seriously, who cares how shady it was, honkey donkeyG RADIOHEAD WAS THERE, I mean wow, i was in the it sounds good but kinda whiny camp i guess, not anymore. they blew my mind, that shit was beutiful.

According to a friend employed by Bonnaroo there was a huge bust made on friday. They caught a dude at his camp with a trash bag full of purple haze. He's in jail and all the roo goers were smokeless... Bummer

I heard quite a few folks mention not being able to find smoke. Not that I would do such a thing - but I easily ran across it on a couple of occaisions - heck I was walking through the vip section on friday and ran into a guy with a whole backpack full of baggies.
People came right through our site and offered everything. No one in our camp that WAS needing anything had to really go anywhere-it was just a matter of waiting around until someone came around. Seemed like every hour or so. Maybe it was just our location.

Not that I couldn't find nugs but there just really wasn't any nugs that were there that I saw that were of the quality I've bought at past roos and when I did find something it was so ridculously overpriced that it wasn't worth it. On another note all the other goodies I found luckily weren't bunk which unfortunately wasn't the case for my friend who bought a quarter of shrooms that when he showed them to me I couldn't stop laughing because I knew he got ripped and to prove me wrong he ate the whole quarter of moist looking grocery store bought mushrooms.......and he ended up asking to buy some goodies off of my stash because all he got was a stomach ache.

When we arrived at the gate we got our car checked and our bags checked. The cop patted my pockets but not my whole legs or anything. I had a gram of bud and a glass pipe in my sock which was concealed beneath my pant leg that he didn't bother to check.
But, of course, 1 gram of smoke is not enough for a 3 day festival of jam bands so I had to buy more. It came to me, really. A kid with a backpack full of weed and shrooms sat down by my sister and talked to her and tried to get her to buy some stuff. I asked him to buy some and he sold me 1/8 for $40 which was reasonable considering the circumstances. It was good bud too.
However, this guy was very very shady. It seemed like somebody equipped him with the drugs and then told him how to act like a pothead. He did not act like a REAL pothead at all. He was wearing a t-shirt that said "GRIM REEFER" and had a pot leaf on it, and an adiddas hat with a green logo that looked like a pot leaf.
I asked him how he got it all past the security check and he just sort of froze, and eventually said something like "i have my ways" or something. When he noticed we were suspicious he panickedly regained his composure and said "oh i just opened my bag and showed them food and they didn't even look"....this was very strange to me.
The conclusion me and my 2 friends came to was that bonnaroo has their own special drug dealers so that they can make money off of EVERYTHING, even drugs. Think about it...every activity was catering to a different type of drug experience. Discotheque and Silent Disco = Ecstasy, Sonic Forest and Art of Such N Such = LSD and mushrooms, VW Garage = total stoner hangout, and the other things were enjoyable either way really.
I don't understand how anybody had problem obtaining any bud...we were offered several times and I saw soo many people smoking weed every where I went.
But yes, it was very shady...it was my first roo too.
The thing I see is, bring your own party favors and have your friends do the same. I didn't buy jack didle this year and had the time of my life. Oh, and no shortage of nuggage. I actually came home with more than I left with. To hear the bad stories makes me mad, but you just have to be sensible. Roo is a different place and time, adjust accordingly.
Please, next year, feel free to stop by accessible camping and share a bowl with me, all of ya'!!
we had people come by our camp alot, it wasn't that hard to find stuff if you really looked...I brought my own but the 5 people I camped with did not and 3 of them all found bags by Friday. Didn't try to buy anything else, there were plenty of shady peeps around...Ive been screwed enough at phish shows to know better than to trust anything other then the green!
