Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
As many of you know, July was the roughest month I've endured in many years: emotionally, fiscally, physically, and professionally. Life pushed me closer to the brink than I'm comfortable admitting. If it hadn't been for my "family of choice" I would not have survived it.
Our unofficial motto seems to be "We're family; taking care of each other is what WE do." I've helped other Inforoosters before, but I've never been on the receiving end of such overwhelming encouragement and support before. Having a network of concerned friends across the country who love you and keep you glued together when you're falling apart is an incredible blessing.
So...
YAY for feeling stress-free for the first time in a lonnnng time. YAY for friends who help you weather Life's storms. YAY for Inforoo being a family full of such awesome people!!!
Yet it is in this loneliness that the deepest activities begin. It is here that you discover act without motion, labor that is profound repose, vision in obscurity, and, beyond all desire, a fulfillment whose limits extend to infinity.

I'm at the beach for a week - YAYYYY!!! Along with the farm & Clemson's Death Valley, this is my favorite place to be. Since I've given up all soda & caffeine drinks, I vow to only drink alcohol this week. Well, maybe a little water too. YAY!

YAYYYY for the weekend. I know that's kind of a given, but last night I was just so convinced it was a week night and I would have to wake up for work the next day that I checked my calendar at least 3 times.
My husband and I are submitting an offer on our (hopefully) first home in the morning. Papers are all filled out just waiting on Monday! I really hate the state of our economy, but it's a home that I never would have dreamed of considering a few years ago.
Yay for my hubby who got me a tix to see Sam Bush as an anniversary present. He wasn't supposed to buy anything but what can you do. Even better? He's taking care of the kids too
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY AND A FAT SUCK IT to the ignorant, self-important A-HOLE that tried to keep my sister down. You didn't get your way, because you are in the wrong. I hope that one day you see what an ugly person you are on the inside and you make a change in yourself.
in the meantime, take THAT SUCKA! AND YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for TRUTH, JUSTICE, and the AMERICAN WAY.
I'm finally done with hiring. I got over 300 applications, did nearly 20 interviews, all to hire 2 people. But now that all is said and done I got 2 people that should be great. It's been a long, long process.
Recently at work, I've started handling the promotional/giveaways/marketing/advertising side of Schoolkids Records and Blurt Magazine (officially, I am right now the "Marketing & Advertising Coordinator" for Schoolkids and Blurt), so I've been involved in setting up a bunch of giveaways/promotions and am going to start being involved in selling ad space in Blurt Magazine to labels/distributors (using our record store as added leverage).
Anyway, because I've been involved in a lot more giveaways, the following things happened today:
1) I had been running Schoolkids' giveaway of 5 pairs of tickets to Old Crow Medicine Show and The Lumineers in Cary, NC (right outside Raleigh), and we have four employee tickets. I wanted to go but I thought it was this Friday and I have to work late on Fridays, so I thought I couldn't go. This morning I realized it was this Saturday, not a Friday, and I get off at 6 on Saturdays, so I realized I could use one of the free tix (two if I can find a friend) and go. Win #1
2) I've been in contact with people from the Durham Performing Arts Center about doing ticket giveaways for some of their shows. Asked the woman I've been in touch with if I could score a pair of tix for Fiona Apple in September since that's one of the shows we're doing a giveaway for. She quickly tells me that's no problem. Win #2
3) Even though I'm already getting free tix through FanCorps for Moogfest, someone from AC Entertainment reached out about wanting to do a ticket giveaway for Moogfest and offering us passes for the employees. One of my coworkers will probably use the passes since I pretty much have my ticket all lined up already, but the option is there if the Fancorps thing somehow falls through (it won't). Win #3
4) Blurt Magazine didn't have anyone to cover "Yep Roc 15" (the 3-day Yep Roc celebration for the 15th anniversary, featuring shows from Nick Lowe, Robyn Hitchfleshy banana, Sloan, Fountains of Wayne, and basically anyone who's ever been on Yep Roc PLUS all sorts of awesome private parties that I can probably gain access to), so Stephen (my boss and the owner of Schoolkids/Blurt Magazine, along with Second Motion Records) asked me if I wanted to cover it (i.e. write about each night for Blurt Magazine's website) and I will get a VIP pass for the whole event. Win #4
So, not only is my job potentially waaaaay more exciting now, since I will be handling promotions, giveaways, and marketing for Schoolkids and Blurt; writing for Blurt Magazine (I love to write); handling social media for Schoolkids (and sometimes for Blurt but not usually); and dealing directly with labels/distributors to sell ad space in Blurt so that we can cover the costs it takes to print a music magazine in this day and age (whereas before I was just really doing in-store operation stuff, checking people out, checking CDs and LPs in, checking people's used stuff, putting stuff online, all that stuff, although I did control most of the Schoolkids social marketing and online stuff already), but I also potentially scored free tickets to like four awesome shows/events today! YAAAAAAY!

This is one of my favorite YAYs since I joined here. Very happy for you, Karosko.
It's exciting because it's both a short-term YAY (I get to go to OCMS and The Lumineers on Saturday for free and Fiona Apple in September, Yep Roc 15 in October) and a long-term YAY (my job is getting pretty awesome with the potential to get even more awesome).
Yay I've applied to my first two audio related jobs! Crossin' my fingers! Dependin' on what/if I hear back it'll basically be my decidin' factor on whether or not I can make Moog happen.
We finally have a new kitty in our home! Super-yay!
Meet Tebow:
I went to the Humane Society yesterday to pick him out, but I think he picked me! He loves to cuddle, follow you around the house, and has found a permanent napping place on my bed
On a semi-related note to my last "yay," here is the review I wrote for my favorite record of the year so far, Matthew E. White's Big Inner, published on Blurt's website this morning:
