I just saw that! dude..this is frekin awsome! I knew they were hiding something! I was supposed to see them at CMJ in 2002, but they backed out because of 9/11..and Les Claypool is playing Solo
unbelievable! I didn't expect this to happen, seriously. so another question then - when do they play? are they gonna headline? If not, late night maybe? Thoughts? I just see them being too big for just a normal during the day stage show, but maybe thats just me...
To me the late night on the second stage seems like the only place that would be appropriate. I assume one of the late night tents would be too small for them, but maybe that's just my own conception. I just couldn't see them playing in the daytime or in one of the 6:00 slots, and wouldn't expect them to headline over Radiohead, Tom Petty and Phil & Friends. We'll see...
I saw them in the 2001 tour and it was one of the most mind-blowing shows I've ever seen. These are three of the most uniquely creative, distinctive and singular musicians to ever play their respective instruments. Whatever you think of their respective styles, you know in about two seconds when you are hearing a Trey, Les or Stewart Copeland lick. Trey is my favorite rock-related guitar player ever. Stewart Copeland is my favorite rock-related drummer ever. Les isn't one of my personal favorites (just not my style) but I have endless admiration of his skill, ability, creativity, personality and originality. He's the Jimi Hendrix of slap/effects bass without question, and he's also the perfect weirdo to front this mutated freakshow of a band from the future on steroids. Their show was over the top, show-offy and extravagant and I loved it. This band is about bad-ass musicians ripping it, nothing more and nothing less.
Oysterhead was too good to be true when they formed, and them playing Bonnaroo is too good to be too good to be true. The Trey & David Byrne & Wilco combo of the '04 lineup was tough to beat for me, but this officially cements '06 as the best Bonnaroo lineup to date in my book.
Heads of Radios and Heads of Oysters!!!!
I would still take me some Hip-Hop but my biggest problem with the lineup at this point is that the schedule conflicts are going to kill me. Oh the music I will miss! /gleeful gushing

I think Oysterhead could headline over Tom Petty, but not the other two. I do not see Tom being able to fill up 3 hours on the main stage. He'd be great for the time slot right before the headliner, aka the Dylan and Windwood time slot. Even if Tom could physically fill up the three hours, I do not know if he could hold my interest for that long.

I second that! This might not be the most jam-band friendly line-up but it is so diverse and exceptional that it is perhaps the best line up. How will they out line up themselves next year? They'll need to resurrect Jerry and Jimi and Miles and Jim Morrison, and reform Phish, Cream, and Pink Floyd.

Do they play any phish covers? I think they should bring john medeski out there and play david bowie. I cant even imagine how les would tear that up, wow.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
