Yea I saw others talking up that album when the lineup came out and I do like to get actual albums (and not just mixtapes) at first. If I like this I'll look into mixtapes and all that.
I find it funny that everyone assumed Drake would be on the lineup, but when the lineup dropped, Ludacris appeared. Ludacris openly dissed him after Drake said Luda "stole his flow."
Alright, so I saw Kendrick tonight with Drake and A$AP Rocky in Lexington. It was a tough crowd for everybody but Drake, but I really enjoyed Kendrick, his set reminded me a lot of the Atmosphere set at Bonnaroo last year. I assume it was just because people didn't know who he was, but the crowd really disappointed me. He was able to get them going for a little while though, and he sounds really good live IMO. I'm gonna check him out again at Bonnaroo because I know the people watching him there will actually move and won't be buying the ticket just to see Drake.
Yeah, I feel like Drake being left off the lineup wasn't really talked about much, especially given how everyone assumed he'd be there.
I think for a lot of people, they just dropped Drake's name as a placeholder for a big rap act since no other big rap act made sense. Before the lineup drop, a lot of people said the only reason Drake made sense was because he was the most logical big name rapper. There was never any concrete evidence. I think that's probably part of why people weren't as shocked or didn't talk about it as much.
Also, super f*cking pumped for Kendrick's set. Hope he's Thursday night.

How exactly did Wale "take over a tent"? He was 45 minutes late and then put on one of the most lackluster god-awful performances I've ever seen. I can't imagine J. Cole was too much better

J. Cole had a great show. Really packed the crowd in, gave a very engaging performance that covered his mixtapes, as well as studio material. You could tell he was really in awe by the experience and very excited by the opportunity. All around great show.

Bump!!!
Kendrick is gonna be incredible! I'm really excited about a lot of the hip-hop this year, and this show should be the perfect start to the weekend! If you haven't listened yet, here's a video for you!
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
