So it looks like the Antlers are a go for this year. I loved Hospice, but haven't gotten into Burst Apart. Can someone give me a breakdown on that album, can't miss songs, ect. Also, what is their live show like?
I'd say Burst Apart was a lot more accessible. I enjoyed it more, but both are great albums. Barring any major conflict I'll be at this show for sure. I couldn't tell you which particular songs to pick because the whole albums is pretty solid. I just started at the beginning.
I didn't think they were very good live based on a few youtube videos. That was before they added a touring guitarist so that Peter Silberman could focus on the singing aspect. I can't tell exactly when they added him, but the quality of their live shows went up remarkably.
what spot they gonna be in? seems like a thursday night headliner to me.
Yeah I too pictured them closing out Thursday or at least one of the last Thursday bands. Would rather have them as a LN act though but then again I want every band I like to play late night.

Hadn't heard anything by these guys until I saw them open for The National a couple years ago. I thought their set was alright and all but then they played "Two" and it completely captivated me. Made me go home and get Hospice. Don't know why but I haven't really heard much from Burst Apart yet but will definitely do that.
I saw the Antlers last year at the First Unitarian Church in Philly, and it was amazing. The only thing is they played with all the lights on, so i could only imagine how amazing it would be at night time.
thank you so much inforoo for introducing me to the Antlers. i havent been able to turn off Hospice in two days. guess ill be going to the store to buy burst apart tomorrow. would love to see them twin shadows spot from last year.
Hospice is so hard to listen to due to the subject matter, but his voice, melodies, and music fits the themes so well, it is mesmerizing. This set is quickly turning into a can't miss for me.
Ok, then I guess they just aren't my thing. For me, their sound isn't original or ground-breaking; it sounds like all of the other stuff that's been pumped out of the indie music scene for the past few years.
Hospice and Burst Apart are both fantastic albums. I think I prefer Hospice, but it could go either way. They're pretty different from each other. I'd be excited to have the Antlers on the farm. I think they might have too big of a following for Thursday though, but maybe not.
