I made a 15 hour drive last year to see this man and his band preform. The whole way there I blasted Death Won't Send A Letter. It doesn't break any new ground, as far as records go. It's basic dribble that No Depression (the magazine) goes gaga over. A a mix of roots rock, blues, gospel, and R&B styled songs all set to a Springsteen blue-collar vibe.
What got me was the song writing and how honest the words felt. I liked Cabin Ghosts the first time I heard it but it didn't prepare me for what was instore for me on the album. You can find all kinds of people guesting on it, most notably Brenden Benson and Carl Broemel.

Saw him share a co-headlining set with The Duke and the King and was impressed. He worked a lot with Brendan Benson from Raconteurs and I enjoyed this video:

Gah, Benson helped co-write that song. No wonder it reminds me so so much of him.

Vid of the last two Cory Chisel songs at Solar Stage this year. Sorry about the poor camera work but it was my virgin recording and a butterfly was crawling around my hand:
Apparently I just deleted my post. That's why I shouldn't have authority around this place...haha.
Anyway, no. Not me. That dude and his buddies were just BRUTALLLLL behind us the whole set. Wouldn't shut the fu*k up for a minute. So when the hat actually made it to the stage, it was just perfect...
Oh good. Cuz when I saw him all I could think of was "Don't be this guy!" I remember seeing you (at Broo'ers?) but don't know if I would recognize you with a BIG ORANGE HAT and sunglasses.
I actually look like the type of dude who would end up with a massive foam cowboy hat on, screaming like a douche at an acoustic show, that's already fighting for aural space, but, I'm not. ;D
