I realized there was no thread for these guys, and after seeing them this week I think they deserve there own thread. They opened for the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and they were AMAZING. I highly recommend seeing them if you get the chance. This guy absolutely RIPS on guitar!
Twin Shadow is the stage name of American musician George Lewis Jr. Lewis was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Florida, before eventually relocating to Brooklyn and adopting the Twin Shadow moniker. In 2010 he released his debut album Forget, produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. The album has been described as "steeped in 1980s new wave", "building from streaks of haunting synth textures" and "hazily new wave-tinged pop". Twin Shadow was the Rolling Stone 'Band of the Week' on October 7, 2010.
This last vid is the director's commentary on the newest video, it's hilarious so I figured I would post it.
No it was at the First Unitarian Church in Philly. It was so funny, they were about to do a cover of the Fresh Prince theme but he got all shy and promised they would do it next time they were here.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

My roommate introduced me to Twin Shadow the other day, and now I'm hooked. I hope this isn't on Thursday since I have to miss it, but I'm pretty much sure that's when it'll be.

They're listed for Thursday on their website but who knows... but they did just start a big tour with the Pains, so maybe you can catch them in a smaller venue instead.
I saw Twin Shadow late last summer. The band killed. During the show and weeks-months after, I couldn't shut up about how they need to play Roo in Neon Indian's place. I feel like they would have the same type of audience as Neon Injun and the same fun-loving sound, but its post-chillwave...more depth and fidelity. I can't help but think rhat the way Neon indian killed their Roo set after playing to a small room of people at the Earl in Atl the night before, that Twin Shadow can bring it even harder. Give these guys a Roo soundsystem and they will work the Thursday night crowd. They have the right kind of party attitude matched with heart gripping song writing, and mothu trucking chops to match. Like lazor said, dude rips the geetar
