I regrettably missed them in '09 since I chose to start pre-game boozing at camp for Portugal. The Man instead. It was worth it, but I gotta catch them this time.

I'm pretty sure that Alberta Cross ended up playing later in the night because they were late arriving.
I was thinking that was Delta Spirit. Either way, I wanted to see both and missed both. One due to early boozing, and the one that arrived late because I didn't want to go back out in the monsoon.

Delta Spirit played later then they were scheduled. The one tent I was going to be at was Alberta Cross -> Delta Spirit -> Portugal. The Man -> The Low Anthem and I was happy I wouldn't have to move but then Delta Spirit changed things around on me.
Yeah, that's right. I was planning to stay at that particular tent all night as well. Instead I skipped Alberta Cross, arrived while Delta Spirit was supposed to be playing, and then just waited around for Portugal. The Man. After that, I went back to camp instead of Low Anthem, and then was monsooned out. Tried to come back for the Triumph comedy show after the monsoon died down, but all the tickets were gone.
Yeah, I really like these guys... not the most original stuff, but I like the records, and as said before, they were really good in 09. They're likely better now. I'd definitely catch them if I went this year.
Can't wait for these guys, really surprised they didn't blow up a little more after Broken Side Of Time. I thought it was a very accesable album. Anyway being from Alberta we are bring an Alberton flag to mark our camp and to bring out for the AC show! Pretty sure there won't be a lot of those marking camp sites. Also pretty sure that AC will have no idea what the Alberta flag looks like.
After MMJ, this is my husband's top must-see band. We saw them in '09 and he has been obsessed ever since. They are his official disc-golf playing band. I am excited too but they are not in my top 3....maybe top 6.

I really like this band. Too bad I'll miss them. I saw them hanging around Them Crooked Vultures tour bus like a bunch of groupies at an '09 show at Stubbs in Austin. Some long haired English bloke came out with two women and gave them a go to hell look. Don't know why I thought of that just now. I love Alberta Cross's sound.
Seems like over half of their crowd in 09 were inforoosters.
It sounds like it but I don't remember seeing anyone else I knew. There are still lots of faces I don't know, of course....but of the ones I do know I didn't see.

Of course it wasn't... they didn't have much hype behind them and they had one of the lower profile slots on the fest, so I wasn't surprised by the turnout. Just under a full tent capacity, IIRC.

Funny. I found their set at Stubbs more entertaining than TCV's that night.
Don't miss this band. I've seen them a few times and they're fantastic. Nice guys, too.
Anyone else going to the Sonic Stage set? We're skipping the set in That Tent for Black Joe Lewis. So glad they're playing solar stage as well as Calgary 2 weeks after Bonnaroo. Makes the conflict a little more bearable.

Im planning on doing something similar. I think I might catch the first 15-20 of Alberta Cross and then go to Black Joe. I also plan on going to the Sonic Stage to catch some of their set. The only problem with that is...I have to miss part of OCMS and The Sheepdogs....Im going to do my best to enjoy as much of these bands as I can......we;ll see how that works out though..ha!
