Went to a private concert last night in Indy featuring G Love. During the meet and great I got to speak to G Love about Bonnaroo and told him about the first time I saw him on the farm. He proceeded to tell me he is already booked for Roo this year and will be opening the What stage on Sunday. He was very personable and truly seemed to give a rats ass that I was excited to see him on the big stage this year. The first time I saw or heard of G Love was at Jack Johnson's 2003 set on the what stage. G Love came out and wailed on his mouth harp during Jack's "Mudfootball". His new album was produced by the Avett Brothers and you can definatly hear the influence in the songs. Kind of cool catching a confirmation and set time from the artist himself.
New album is very different than I expected, Avett Brothers not only produced but also strongly influenced and play on most of it. Avett's are open 6-5 to 6-21, maybe they'll come sit in

Funny I just watched those two video before you posted them itrainmonkeys. So G. love is a late addition just like John Butler Trio and they are both playing in the same spot. Btw I am digging his new album!
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Somebody mentioned this the other day as well. Maybe we get G Love > Ben Harper(hoping hes an addition after the early rumors) > Robert Plant and BOJ > WSP for What on Sunday.

This has nothing to do with his playing Bonnaroo, but I have a funny G Love story that I've never had an audience to share with until now.
I was at a music festival in the middle of nowhere, and took an early morning trip to Wal-Mart to stock up on supplies. When I got there I ran into G Love who was playing the festival, in the personal hygiene area, with one of the finest women I've ever seen and a box of magnum condoms. That's all they got, and they left.

G. Love freestyled a sweet voicemail greeting Carl Kasell-style on my friend's cell after a show at Ziggy's in exchange for some smoke about 10 years ago.

If there were any question of the validity of this confirmation, I asked G. Love if he would be at Bonnaroo via-Twitter and here is the re-tweet I got: "glove
"@guiitarman: @glove Im hearing rumors that your gonna join us back on the farm at #bonnaroo this year? Please let it be true!!!" TRUE! 9:45 AM Mar 6th via Twitter for BlackBerry®"

This is especially good news since I'm going to Hangout Fest too, and they just said that G Love will have to cancel there due to scheduling conflicts.
