i missed him at moogfest this year, but i heard from some people that he put on a hell of a show and i ended up regretting it. pretty rare performance too, i think he only has one other date scheduled in the US for now.
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
Syrian Folk-pop is how a website describes his music. Whatever it is, it sounds like alot of fun and his keyboardist is damn talented. Should be an awesome show. I would love to see him work with Beats Antique.

I youtubed a couple of his videos and they made my dog bark like crazy (and not in a good way). I would say this is the only time my dog has ever lost it when I put music on

I'm pumped for this set. I was hoping to check him out at Moog, but missed him for something (I don't remember what conflict but meh). I hope he's not Thursday since I won't be there until Friday
It looks like he has a gig booked now for Thursday, so this will either be a Friday or Saturday act (doubt it will be Sunday, but who knows). Kind of feel like this could be one of the bigger daytime dance parties this year.

There was a very small turn out for his Moog set, but it was absolutely fantastic.
Hopefully it isn't too hot to dance during his set.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Dude. Bootsy Colliins Late Night... just think about that for a second. Omar seems cool and all but I was very very excited to boogie all night with Bootsy.

Well 1st of all, bootsy's slot was dumb from the very beginning. Conflicting with Dr. John? Kind of absurd, so in that sense it's smart they moved him. But anyways, that's not even important, considering I never disagreed with the fact that bootsy would be a great late night set.
What I did disagree with was you saying Omar doesn't deserve a LN set. I have seen Omar before, and I can honestly say that he is my most anticipated late night set of the entire weekend. Get down in crowd during his set where the dance pit will be, and you'll understand why.
I know that he'll be a great show, not disagreeing on that one. And i was definitely into resolving the Bootsy/Dr John conflict, I guess I just felt that there were other acts that I would've rather seen get that spot. I'll probably stop over if Dr John gets super crowded.
