I can't remember what year they played the What Stage last. 2006? But they blew me away. Is there any other act playing this year where the members are more skillful musicians? And I can't think of why Coffin wouldn't be there.

Because he isn't an original Flecktone. But Dr. Teeth says he'll be there, so hopefully he will be. I trust muppets.

Casey Driessen, the violinist from Sparrow Quartet and Bela's Trio, will also be a part of this show as a guest. In fact, that puts all four members of Sparrow Quartet in the lineup.
I'm goin to Bonnaroo for my third year now and have an awesome time each. But I have yet to see Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. I'm not missin them again! It's like I haven't been confirmed by the Bonnaroo Gods. Uniquely American, Uniquely Southern. Manchester Tennessee
Wooten's bass also owns.

I love the Flecktones, but I always laugh whenever anyone uses a term like "demolish" to describe soft/melodic bluegrass-jazz music.
If you think they are soft and melodic I can only assume they put on a different show on the road. I have seen them tear the roof off of places. The one time I saw them play with the symphony and futureman demolish was the correct word for the symphony house.

1. Basically what Dr. teeth said, and to add to it, they sample from a lot of different genres.
2. Maybe your definition of demolish is different than others. To me Victor Wooten can "demolish", Bela Fleck can MOST DEFINITELY "demolish". Though I would define demolish in the musical sense as perfectly displaying your master skills to the point where my jaw is dropped. Your definition must be different.

I've seen the Flecktones probably a dozen times. Each time has been excellent. I would never say anything was "demolished." It's just the wrong description there. It's bluegrass-jazz music.
I stand by what I said, with the caveat that Nashville is their home so we rarely get a formulaic show. Also when Bela came out with Phish for Scent of a Mule in 95 Demolish is the only possible description for what went down....
Funny you use the word demolish Dr. Teeth... I was going to recommend to anyone who loves guitarists that shred, that they check out Bela; I'm sure they'd be somewhat enlightened by the experience.
Me too!!! Quacker I'm watching Graveyard before Bela and plan on stopping at the Broo'ers Tent for a cold one in between the sets. Probably at around 1:30 PM. Beers on me.
