Is this going to be an entire tent one day, or like 2 hours of short acts the Gogol guys put on? I get the impression it's the later, maybe Gogol headlining a tent one day, and then doing the Revue during a late night or something.
But does anyone have any idea what this actually is?
My guess is a tent like the one David Byrne curated in '09, with acts to be announced later on - but to be fair, it could really go either way. I'm really looking forward to this, though! Bonnaroo's selection of punk has been pretty lacking in past years, which is surprising since they seem to be very savvy about other genres.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
I'm thinking all day tent, like Byrne or the Latin American bands they had this past year.I'm guessing lineup would go Beats Antique-Devotchka-Beirut-Gogol Bordello headlining. A collaborative jam of all those bands would be surreal. Here's hoping they set up some type of gypsy carnival. A tent with some Persian rugs, some hookahs, and some bellydancers, that would be a great place to just chill. A truly Oh Bonnaroo moment.

Per the New York Times...
"The bill will also feature Dr. John and the Original Meters performing “Desitively Bonnaroo,” the 1974 album from which the festival takes its name; and the Global Gypsy Punk Revue, on a special stage curated by Eugene Hütz, whose band Gogol Bordello is also performing at the festival."

It wasn't implying Dr. John and Gypsy Punk Revue would be on the same stage or had any relation... just that they are both on the bill (as are 80 or so other artists).
We play many amazing festivals all over the world but Bonnaroo has always held a special place in our hearts and Gogol Bordello will not only return to the scene of the crime this year but Eugene will be curating a Gypsy Punk Parranda stage with the Bonnaroo folks to help bring in some of our favorite flavors from all over the world. Hutz and Dubta will be Djing as well and plenty of other cool stuff to be announced. In other words Bonnaroo will prove once again the place to be … Don't sleep until then. And stay plugged in here and Bonnaroo.com for more info and stage line-up as it develops. PARTY!!

I wasn't "butt hurt" but I was definitely a little sad not to see them on the lineup again. Here's hoping for an addition! You should listen to Beats Antique, not quite as fast paced as BBB but definitely similar sounds. I could see them being featured in this little shindig.
