Fuck yes! This is the type of undercard act that I am excited about seeing (same was as I was excited about Porcupine Tree as a small name on the Coachella lineup last year). This is going to rock.

oh no... they made a facebook event page that says they are playing on the 10th... which means if they are late night they could possibly conflict with mmj/arcade fire...

I'm excited as well. I have never seen Opeth but I've heard great things about their live show. I'm guessing they'll get a daytime set; the metal bands normally do.

Would love to see them late night, but there are so many bands begging for LN slots I'm afraid of a conflict. Would see them over anyone on the lineup except MMJ but would be very sad if I had to miss Primus. I'm just foreseeing them conflicting with one of those.

I'm hoping they get a late night spot, I'm just not sure it's gonna happen. I'm worried about conflicts though. This is one band I've been waiting to see, so knowing my luck I'll end up with a major conflict.
Keep the Sunday Metal tent, just expand on it. I mean, you have quacking Opeth to headline your metal tent, build around that Leno!
Coachella has Porcupine Tree this year? I'm super jealous, besides these guys, I can't think of anyone else I want on the farm more than Steven Wilson.
Steven & Mikael's collaboration project is supposed to come out this year, too.

Porcupine Tree was last year at Coachella. I absolutely love this band, but it kind of sucked that they got scheduled around noon and they didn't have much time. They played some of my favorite songs in the short amount of time they had though. I feel like they are one of the most underrated bands ever. Hardly anyone was at their stage, but they've been making good shit for around 20 years now.
I remember Start of Something Beautiful, the heavy part of Anesthetized, Blackest Eyes, Lazarus, Halo, The Sound of Muzak, and only a small amount of The Incident album.
Where should I start with Opeth? I honestly can't say that I've ever heard an Opeth song (that I know of), but I'm always looking to get into some of the heavier stuff on the lineup. Suggestions appreciated...
