Hell yes, they are. I've almost bored myself sick with this song, but I'm sad to see it go.

Never say never. Hell, my Grandfather's retired three times. Just wait until the next time he's at Roo. He may pull it out.

You can't blame the guy for giving it up though. It's pretty much become his equivelent to "Creep".

I've only heard a few Ben Folds songs before. I had no idea how awesome he is, and it makes me that much more sad that I missed Bonnaroo this year.

It'll probably take him a few 'Roos to come back too.

I have to say I've never enjoyed watching video of a concert in my room as much as I did right then. If I were there, it would have been on par with how much I enjoyed Flaming Lips up close last year.

I will unleash Spider Robot Lars on people at random if nobody captured that stream.

Yeah, he's one of the best performers out there. One of my favorite shows from 06, and hands down the most entertaining webcast I've seen.

And you want to talk about missing the guy, I've had tickets to see him seven different times between individual concerts and festivals and I've only seen him once. Thus making this bonnaroo another notch on the belt of missed ben shows.

Ouch man. If he swings around Nashville or Atlanta, I'm there... no ifs, ands, or butts.

You should be too.

Oh, it looks like he's playing with the Nashville Symphony on the seventh of September at the Schermerhorn. I can't find tickets anywhere though.

Found the site. It says:

"Currently individual tickets to this event are unavailable for purchase. If you believe you are eligible to purchase tickets because you are a 2008/09 season ticket holder, please make sure you are logged in before proceeding. Single tickets to all 2008/09 events will go on-sale to non-season ticket holders on July 19."

Thank you! For a second I thought the thread was insinuating that Ben Folds was retiring "it" meaning his career and I think my heart stopped beating for a second or two :o :P

I have the video of this performance from the crowd. I'll put a youtube link up on here as soon as I upload it. Folds' show was one of my favorite this year. I was the giant dude about 10 rows back at the begining.

I saw Ben Folds play an empty bar in Baltimore about 6 years ago. I was in a large room with about 85 other people and I was 7 feet away from him sitting on the corner barstool.

So I don't ever want to see another show again, cause it won't ever be as good as that was.

I agree, I hate hearing brick... it reminds me of high school and my beloved ben folds five being overplayed to a slow death... :P

Ben Folds was my favorite set of the weekend. He's such a good performer, I had a better spot than I did in '06 and being there when he retired Bitches Aint nuts was awesome. I have a video of that but I havent uploaded it to see how good the sound is. I think being so close may have made it nutsy on my camera.

And I'm kinda mad that they didnt make the crowd poster from '06 with a wider shot, I'm like 4 people away from being in it, but I still bought it. Awesome poster.

I like Ben Folds alright, but I'm really glad he retired "B*tches Ain't Sh*t". I've really had enough of pop/rock/indie/bluegrass/whatever groups covering early-90's hip-hop in a semi-ironic fashion.

I never really understood why he played "Bitches Ain't Shit" to begin with. I thought it was super funny the first time I heard him play it several years ago but each time it gets progressively less so. Also, I may be a little old fashioned, but that song is just so absolutely vulgar, it's just weird to hear him sing it with women in the audience.

I've seen him three times and never heard him play my two favorites "Underground" and "The Battle of Who Could Care Less"...has anyone see him play these?

I haven't seen him play those songs since the BFF days :(

One Angry Dwarf & 200 Solemn faces is my fave, I have seen him play that solo...

Ben has a loose definition of "retired" it seems.
