The Devil Makes Three is an American band. They formed and remain based in Santa Cruz, California. They play a brand of acoustic music known to some as folk punk. It encompasses a blend of bluegrass, old time music, country, folk, blues, ragtime, and rockabilly.[1] The group's members are guitarist Pete Bernhard, upright bassist Lucia Turino, and guitarist and tenor banjo player Cooper McBean.
I've seen them a couple of times (one of which on a scorching Sunday at Bonnaroo '10 in the Troo Music Lounge). They put on a really fun show, and are very friendly and chatty with fans afterwards.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
They are a great band and great people. To me, they're one of those undeniably talented bands, the kind to which non-bluegrass/acoustic/folk fans still have to give props. Great stage presence too, should be a top-notch set.

I saw them open for Flogging Molly a few days ago. It was a great show, and they were eager to mingle with the crowd afterwards. I'm really jazzed to see them again.
Just started listening to these guys last week, and its right up my alley. Do Wrong Right is my favorite so far. Doesn't stray too far from traditional bluegrass/country, but still has a unique sound. Definately plan on checking them out

I just got into this band, namely from the lineup drop. My buddy's been egging me to listen to them for years now. I really dig the sound and energy so far, looking forward to the show. As of now I only have the first album, what would you guys recommend to get ready for the show/ familiarize myself with the band a little more?

These guys killed it in Jacksonville last Monday. I didn't listen to them until the roo lineup dropped this year either. I'm stoked to see them on the farm.
What a great little band. Saw them open for Gogol Bordello in Atlanta weekend before last. I had never heard of them prior to this show and was really impressed. Looking forward to seeing them again at the farm.
They were one of the best shows I saw at Hangout this year.
I agree. I had listened to their albums before and didn't really care for them, so I didn't plan on seeing them at Hangout. But we walked in and walked past them and were drawn in. They were really good. I plan to see them again.
Bonus points for making us LOL with lyrics like, "You wouldn’t believe the things that my friend Eric put us through/He had a PowerPoint presentation about this girl he wanted to do."
