People need to be way more excited for this. One of the most pleasant surprises for me on this year's lineup was seeing these guys come back so soon. Bonnaroo obviously realized how good their 2010 set was and needed them back. I've been surprised to see such little excitement about them. After playing a show which had Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich (Radiohead producer) in attendance, Godrich was so impressed he offered to produce their next album (Due out in the next couple months), so you all should be excited too.
Their first self-titled album was the brainchild of singer-songwriter Luke Temple. He originally wrote and recorded all of the songs in his basement before recruiting a full band to turn his acoustic-folk pieces into the dense, spacey layered sound that Here We Go Magic would become known for.
Their studio sound is great, but live they are just on a whole other level. 5 minute tracks turn into 9 minute tracks as they create and layer loops on the spot, sending the audience into head-nodding trances with every song. Absolutely captivated and floored me in 2010
Their next album, Pigeons, the first written with the full band was a great follow-up and did a good job of replicating their upbeat and trance-y live sound on the album.
To me, the standout track on Pigeons was F.F.A.P., a track reminiscent of Pink Floyd which also shows how under appreciated this band is considering it wasn't even uploaded to YouTube yet. So I took the liberty of uploading it to YouTube myself as it is really a standout track that deserves to be heard.
Look for the new album, A Different Ship, produced by Nigel Godrich due out on May 8th and dont miss this set!

And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

Excellent live band. They're definitely one of my favorite bands on the Bonnaroo "undercard". Saw them a few times live and was always very impressed. They do pretty cool things w/ alternating vocal parts and unique harmonies.
I had never bothered to check out this band until I saw the AV Club stream of the new album like 15 minutes ago and holy crap, I'm already obsessed after 3 songs. I'm definitely in for this set.

I really hope their tour mgmt website is wrong and they're playing Friday or Saturday instead of Sunday. It makes a lot more sense given they have to be in San Fran by Tuesday, and it would be nice to see these guys without a lot of conflicts hanging over my head.

Won tickets to see them when they hit DC, and I was blown away. Their recorded stuff never really held my interest, but this is a great show. May be worth missing Black Lips or Grouplove if you haven't seen them
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.
I didn't really care for the set from "Here We Go Again" in 2010 but the two songs I've heard off the new album are great. I'm going to download the album when I get home and try catch their Sonic set on Sunday.
