i only saw the first several songs in 2007 and then bounced over to the superjam. only seen them one time other than that. i can't wait to see them on the farm again.
i'd rather have the full band set jess, as opposed to the acoustic. although, that is something i'm interested in seeing.
I think Jess was joking? I can't imagine how a eletro-centric jamtronica band could pull off an acoustic set..
I was recently at a party when "Axe The Cables" (acoustic live album) came on. I was pretty blown away when I found out it was them and thought it was some really chill acoustic rock. I'd be down for a nice acoustic "let down" after some crazy Untz!

Is there any worry at all/what are the chances that they will have to cancel their appearance due to David Murphy being treated for cancer? I'll have to say that I was shocked seeing them on the lineup.

yeah, it's definitely a possibility. Allman Brothers had to cancel quasi-last minute because of the Hep issue. Cancer is definitely no different.
Hopefully this gives you some hope though:
From Murphy of STS9 Facebook page:
"Greetings, I am happy to be writing y'all from the comfort of my own home and finally out of the hospital! My surgery was very successful and am now just trying to rest up so I can begin a full recovery as soon as my wounds heal up, I want to whole heartily thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and let y'all know that not only were they appreciated but they worked! Peace and Love"
They won't cancel. They already scheduled Athens dates and said that they want their first festival date to be summer camp so they will be doing all their summer dates.

Not going to cancel.
It didn’t take near as long as he expected it to, but Sound Tribe Sector Nine bassist David Murphy has kicked the cancerous tumor doctors discovered in his sinus cavity only five weeks ago. A statement on STS9’s official website (via Spinner) says that the Atlanta native’s recovery “has been nothing short of amazing, inspiring, and impassioned.”
In fact, it’s been so inspiring that the band will return to the road at the end of March when they head down to Miami, FL to play the second day of the Ultra Music Festival. They then celebrate 4/20 by playing a pair of dates at the Classic Center in Athens, GA and have several shows in the Midwest before they make appearances at Arkansas’ Wakarusa Music Festival and Bonnaroo in Tennessee. Tickets go on sale at 12 p.m. local time on Saturday and are available through STS9’s official website. A complete list of tour dates is available below.

Bravo to Murph getting better. I'm such a jerk when it comes to sts9. I'm so nonchalant about listening to them or talking about them in between shows, but then when I see them I always have a freaking blast.

^^ indeed bravo to murph. like ITM quoted, they are going to be at ultra, so unless there are setbacks in murphs treatment/recovery we'll see him get better on his way to roo.

ive seen them twice now and was never really wowed, but their acoustic set from Dec 09 is really, really good. i would actually be more interested in seeing that. ill check them out if there are no conflicts however

anyone trying to find something to work off of, i like this set. i always find my way back to it. its from 2007 so doesn't have the newer material, but some great versions of some of my personal favorites.

I doubt they will be on the Which stage. Late night seems certain, so in all likelihood they will be in a tent. If there is a late night "jam" band on Which, I would think it would be SCI

STS9 latenight on the which actually makes more sense to me than SCI just because SCI would be a better fit than STS9 in a non-latenight slot, but i dont know how likely any of that is.
