I am so annoyed/mad/pissed off right now. I get off the train, and walk over to where I parked my car so I can move it for alternate side rules. I was going to drive it to the supermarket so I wouldn't have to carry a bunch of bags back. I get to where I parked, and the car is fu*king gone ??? I look all around, I say to myself 'this is the corner I parked on right?' The answer is yes... but there is another car where mine was. Okay, last night I got home after ten to move my car to the other side of the street. It is always hard find a space after ten, but I always do. So i drive around for about ten minutes, and then find a space. I always get suspicious of late night spaces... so I survey all of the things around me. There is a car directly in front of my car, and one not too far behind it. The sign directly above my car says, "No parking 8:00-9:30AM Monday and Thursday" No problem there, it was Monday night. No hydrant anywhere near by, no driveway, no sign on the building saying anything, no yellow paint on the curb (I actually knelt down to the ground and examined the curb, because sometimes it is hard to see yellow paint in the after dark yellow lighting in my neighborhood.) I look around one more time, and walk away satisfied. So about two hours ago, standing where my car used to be, I look at the sign again. Still says the same thing... but directly above it on the pole, completely blocked by the leaves of a tree, there is another sign. "School Zone, no parking, school days, 7AM to 4PM" In the dark there was absolutely no way anyone could have seen it behind the leaves. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tow away zone, car gone. On my way to go get it from the impound yard tomorrow, I am going to take a picture of the pole with the blocked sign, but they are not going to care. What they are going to say is, there's a sign 20 yards down the street that says the same thing with an arrow pointing in both directions. It was a dark corner I never parked on before, I had no idea there was a school there. Could have been anything... I was thinking a church or comminity center. I did what I thought was an extremely thorough job of securing the location, there were other cars parked lining the whole zone, every thing looked totally fine... but it just wasn't enough. Now I have to pay- $115 ticket $185 towing fee ??? 'Police Storage fee, to be deternined at the station' Total= God knows what... $380? $400? More ???
I am so fu*king mad and annoyed. I am so careful keeping my car here, I even make my plans around moving it. I need my car here, not to get around here, I never drive it in the city. No need to, a major reason I like living here. But without my car, I would never really get out of here, and that would suck, would make me feel trapped. I've had my car here for years and gotten exactly 2 parking tickets... One because it was 1:30AM when i got home from Bonnaroo early on a Tuesday morning this year... the absolute worst time of the entire week in my neighborhood to have any chance of finding a space. I drove in spirals for an hour, and gave up. I parked right in front of my building on the wrong side of the street intentionally, and went to sleep after like 15+ hours in the car. $45 was a small price to pay I figured. The other time... I unexpectedly got invited back to a beautiful woman's apartment for the night and moving my car was the farthest thing from my mind. $45... once again, small price to pay. But this... this sucks. So much for all of that karma I've accumulated here. Lot of good it's doing me today. (That was supposed to be a joke) I am rarely if never pessimistic, but right now i am, and feeling this way right now, now I know why I am never pessimistric. And I never even made it to the supermarket. Now I am here with a package of processed individually wrapped cheese food, and a loaf of bread that expired 2 days ago, but should be okay because it was in the fridge the whole time. Oh, and a six-pack of tall boys. I am exausted, I am going to eat my cheese food, drink all my beer, and pass out until first thing tomorrow morning when I have to get up and deal with all of this. Good times. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGH
I'm sorry, I don't mean to rant, but i had no place else to vent just now.
In other words......sorry for your bad day my lord..... If I could make it go away....I would..... Eat,drink, have corn.....have some karma......it's all I can do other than sympathize....
Vent here....it's what we do.....tomorrow will be....maybe not better....but day after will...... Life's funny like that.....hang in there dude - you are loved

i have a grrrrr ... my bestfriend from jr high, 60's, shot himself and they found him in the mnts yesterday .... what an not a very nice person to do that to his family .... canx**
Oh no... I'm sorry... so much pain for those who are left behind
^^^ No, quite shocking to all I am sure. So sad. For his family, his friends.....who knows what kind of pain and madness drives someone to that extreme.....I think the best way I heard it phrased was - of all things and at all places - at a Catholic mass for an acquaintance who had committed suicide (the Catholics generally frown on such things : . The priest actually said "There are some illnesses that are not visible from the outside, that destroy people from the inside...." Truer words never spoken.....

Hey, got my car back this morning, and it went fairly smooth considering the people working there (use your imagination...)
Still had to pay $185 But the ticket was $60 instead of the $115 I thought it was going to be, and there was no storage fee because I got it in under 24 hours. Still sucked ass, but at least it sucked a little less ass than I thought it would.
Thanks everyone for making me feel a little better when I was beyond annoyed last night....
Oh, and I have a nice new dent in the front left corner of my car Fuckers It's not really that bad though, but just the fact that it's there... fuckers
^^^On the other hand - if you look at it from a glass half full type of view - at least your car was towed and not stolen - because when I started reading your story - that was the first thing I thought - "oh hell - his car was stolen" I was actually relieved that it had just been towed.

I have a GRRR.
so I'm an assistant manager for an all natural handmade 'cosmetics' company ('cosmetics' is the british term for bath and body stuff - haircare, soap, face cleansers, etc) here in the city. the company is really big on their ethics, including absolutely no animal testing and 100% vegetarian products. actually, most of the stuff we sell is vegan too.
we had a woman in the store the other day who's been wanting to work for us forever. she's really into the brand and has been devoted for years. the only reason we never hired her is because her vibe really doesn't blend with what the store's vibe is... hard to explain, but I'm sure you all know what I mean. so I was talking to her with my manager and another associate who was just hired and the new associate was talking about having been a vegetarian for 13 years, growing up with hippie parents, the like. my manager turns to me and asks me how long I've been a veggie, I say about 9 years. and then the lady with bad vibes says "I'm not a vegetarian. the animals enjoy to be eaten by me, I can see a little glint in their eyes before they die that they love it. Hahahah!"
I was floored. not only is that creepy, but totally offensive considering the type of company it is. I don't expect everyone to be vegetarian, but geez, don't be a creepy meat eater!
p.s. I later called her creepy very casually as if I was kidding and she laughed... but I was just calling her creepy, haha

See, when I saw it was gone, that didn't even occur to me... no one would steal my car I love her, and she always gets me where I need to go, but there is no other person on the planet who would want her I am afraid. But that's ok, cause she is mine until the end (her's, not mine, I hope)

aww! that's how I was with my car. my friends made fun of my '99 saturn but I loved it. there's something about your first car too that means a lot to a person. I cried when I had to sell my baby so I could move to nyc. even though where I live I don't need a car, I miss it. plus I had a sick stereo put in a few years ago too! my car took me from high school through college, drove me to the places I made lifelong memories. it was really hard to part with it.

I dowload these sets from Echo Project and of course I want to burn them...
most of the sets miss being on one disc by about 7 minutes which means you have to break up a set. I hate that. Plus I'm working on a spindle of colored discs. After getting down to the end I'm left with one yellow, one black, one red & one blue.... I need some one disc shows...
It's not a major grrrrr.... but still GRRRRRRR
couldn't the trader friendly bands be a tiny bit more aware of this and play in convenient 79 minute blocks ..... that'd be SO cool

Blackbird, the last few days, whenever I see your name on here, the Beatles song immediatley starts replaying in my head. That's not a GRRR thing, just a thing. That song is sooo catchy

LOL! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with OCD.
on a related note: Hilari's boss made her a cd of songs from Roo '07 artists about a month before we headed for Manchester this year. (I'm not really sure why though.) Evidentally he ran out of space in the middle of the last song.....AND LEFT IT LIKE THAT! It drove me so crazy that I couldn't even listen to it anymore after the first time. I could never leave a cd like that...especially if it was intende for someone else. Sh!t like that drives me crazy!
That is all.

Fortunately, I'm only OCD when it comes to my music. I have a system for dowloading, burning, labeling etc.... Oh the horror if that gets screwed up! Hubby's not even allowed in the My Music folder... he messed it up once... ONCE!
The rest of the house is a disaster but my music is more organized that the Library of Congress ;D

lol I'm glad it's just a thing, and not a GRRR thing I was stuck on the song when I set it up. it is super catchy!

Here's one for you guys:
Hilari and I just got back from the grocery store. As we were entering the store's parking lot, we stopped at a stop sign (like you do). As I started to pull-out, a woman in a huge suv blew right through the stop sign on our right. She gave me a big, goofy-ass grin as she cut me off. I promptly gave her the finger and we continued on our way. When we came out of the store a few minutes later, she had put a note on our car that said "LEARN HOW TO DRIVE LOSER!".
Does that make any sense to anyone?

Didn't you learn in driving school that the biggest tool always has right of way at a 4-way stop sign?
Actually, I thought the rule was anyone who feels the need to leave a note on a car calling the driver a loser automatically is freed of any fault of a possible incident and therefore is the better, more correct driver.

My 10-month old oven is broken The burners are fine... but the oven... nothing And that's why the oven is 10 months old, because the last one didn't work either. This is how I found out... I got home, all excited to heat up the other half of my awesome Chicken Cutlet/Grilled Ham/Melted Swiss on garlic hero for dinner, I threw it in the oven, turned it to 400, then 15 minutes later, drooling with anticipation I opened the door, and... nothing, no heat, no gas, no anything ??? I had to microwave it to heat it up So I ate a squeaky molecule speedy, pseudo-hot dinner, but I didn't get to enjoy the meal I was really looking forward to I can't not go to work tomorrow to meet the super, and he doesn't do ANYTHING on the weekend, so, no oven until sometime next week when my roomate is home, at the earliest
I guess it's better than the 10 months I didn't have an oven before that (to complicated too explain why THAT took so long)
Don't you hate it when people schedule meetings for 4 pm in the afternoon....and send the meeting notice at 3:40 pm???? ??? The SAME FREAKING DAY???
I had to literally ask my office mate..."Is today Thurs?" I couldn't believe he would actually DO that....knowing that almost NO ONE is in the office after 4.... (It IS a government building after all.....) Sigh....reason #4,765,398,887,999 that I HATE my job....
My GRRR today has to do with a storage shed I have. It's been leaking along the walls for years so every fall I caulk it to try and stop the leaks. I noticed it hasn't been doing much good so I decided to dig deeper.
I pulled down the trim and it turns out the contractor who built it skipped the $8 worth of flashing. So for him to save $8, I spent 6 hours dismantling the front to put the flashing in. And that's only one side. I'll do the other side tomorrow.
Why would someone be so stupid as to skip a step that cost $8 and no extra labor and will save the whole building from water rot. I've been cussing that guy all day. And I'm sure there's more coming tomorrow too.
I am writing my year end self evaluation. Due tomorrow, uh, make that today now. Sweet Evil Oatmeal Jesus, why do I have to do this shit? Every. Single. Year. I hate it.
Yes, I am a team player, blah blah blah. Yes, I met my objectives, blah blah blah. Please Sir may I have more?
NO. No good raise, no good bonus. Your reward for all your hard work is more work.
PS: My employer lost TWO BILLION DOLLARS in 3Q. I am so not getting a decent raise, and maybe no bonus. Which is always used for Bonnaroo, btw.
But saying Sweet Evil Oatmeal Jesus makes me smile a little. I love Inforoo!

i hate public transportation in the south... i'm "fortunate" to live in one of the northern suburbs of ATL that actually has "bus service," in a very very limited sense. A couple of days ago, the alternator went out on my mom's car... mind you, my own van crapped out about a month or two ago, so we have the "family car" that everyone sort of shares, and i generally get rides to and from work in that... my job is 2.96 miles from my house. It's not really really cold out, but cold enough, and the walk would be extremely hilly. TO take the bus, I have to walk a mile from my house anyway, so it's questionable as to what would take more time, walking the whole way or taking the bus, since the buses here only run every 30 minutes, and I have to transfer busses and wait 15-25 minutes for the connecting bus... for a TWO MILE RIDE (two miles on the bus + 1 mile walk). So this morning i set my alarm for 5:30 so i could possible make it to work on time by seven. Then i got cold and lazy and figured i would just call a cab, even though i knew it would cost more. the cab was supposed to be there at 6:40 but didn't show up till 6:58, so needless to say, i was late.... for the second day in a row.
