Tried to go to the parade today. Went to the commuter rail station, huge crowds. First train comes by, about a quarter gets on and everyone else is told to wait. Next two come through and nobody is allowed on. Fourth one comes, police have to kick people off for jumping on to the engine cars. Nobody getting on this one either. I end up leaving and abandoning the parade plans. 95 north is crawling and parking is scarce to non existent anywhere near the parade - so not worth it to drive up more.
I'm out $10 on parking at the station and three hours PTO. Lesson learned.

Look at it this way. You spent $10 to get to watch trains go by. You didn't have to work for 3 hours. And you weren't the poor guy that got hit by the train this morning. You're ahead.
Had my brother in law been able to go, we would have done the Franklin line rather than Providence line. The Franklin line is where the man was struck and killed, so was fortunate to have not been anywhere around that.
It's also taking people well over an hour trying to leave the city on trains too.

Sounds kinda similar to my experience with the 2010 Rally to Restore Sanity in DC. It was an absolute shitshow at DC area metro stations and I think it took me and Alex some six trains until there was space.

Was down there for that too
I got on at the end of the Red Line, so it wasn't as bad.
So on the drive to work this mornin’ somethin’ flew off the back of a flatbed truck trailer and into my windshield. Thankfully I’m okay, especially as some friends have made some comparisons to that scene from Final Destination with the logs. Whatever struck my car thankfully didn’t come through the windshield, or I might not be here. But my windshield is fucked. And I didn’t get the plates of said truck either.
So now I’m stuck without a car and can’t get my rental until tomorrow because Enterprise and Geico both suck.

My mom was just ranting about why she doesn’t like AOC or really any of the newer women voted into Congress. Because they “argue too much.”
Hi, mom, remember me? The daughter you raised to fight and speak out for the things you believe in? That is also those women. They just do it better. Thanks for reminding me that you’re just another boomer that hates my generation.

So disappointing. Glad she at least raised you well enough to recognize your own voice.
On Monday, I had to have my dog put down. It really sucked. He was a good dog and a good buddy. I miss him very much. I hope he knew how much I loved him.

Of course he knew. Sorry for your loss and sorry you had to make that hard of a decision.

That’s rough, buddy. I’m sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm sorry Matt, even though that's the best course of action when they're not well it's still a really hard thing to do. He definitely knew.
Very small grrrrrrr, but my hubby is picking up Chipotle for me right now and just called to tell me they're out of rice, cheese, and corn salse.
What the hell
Gotta wonder what they do have.
At Bonnaroo 2015, Michael Che did a comedy bit about how you know you're in the hood when fast food restaurants start off your order by telling you everything they don't have, and it's all I can think of right now.
Holy shit. Xylene and NAPHTHA are bad news chemicals to be out in the environment.
Holy shit, this cant be right.
"At a 1 p.m. news conference, Channel 2 Investigates reporter Joel Eisenbaum questioned Bob Allen, of Harris County Pollution Control, about the lack of data at the Deer Park site. Allen indicated that the sensor may be down for maintenance. Eisenbaum also pointed out that the sensor at the Clinton site has also been down since 9 a.m."
The good ole "If I can't see it, it doesnt exist" argument for air quality in the Houston area.

Work is super stressful due to some huge shifts in who we're working for, extended family life is very stressful, and my kid went to daycare for the first time today. This is the Mondayest Monday ever.

I need a life preserver!
I don't have the other shit going on, but today is the most Mondayest Monday ever. The fact that it is transcending coasts proves that even more. Hugs boo. <3

I havent drank anything in a long time. Decided to get wild yesterday and drink 3 IPA's, which is apparently about 2 IPA's too much. I've been feeling it all day.
Just got hit by a car and it totaled my bike. Monday’s, am I right?
Fuck,you OK?
I landed on my shoulder but my traps so it’s just bruised and nothing’s broke but it really hurts. I also have a really terrible scrape on the back of my hip.
